@@grantsmythe8625 I think the better logic is protect your children and vet the people you trust them with. Church isn't the issue. It's the individuals who put themselves in places of authority in order to abuse that power. One thing that is definitely an issue though is that "christian" men who have homosexual tendencies are often encouraged to go into seminary since they "aren't interested in family life". This is in large part what creates these patterns of abuse. I don't think it's very wise to put someone whom you know is going to be tempted more than others in a position where that temptation is going to be stronger than any other position.

@@sorelyanlie2784 that's quite a sweeping statement to say 'church isn't the issue' when it white clearly is an issue. The church is a system and an institution like any other. It is subject to power, control and abuse like any other system. The rates of pornography inside the church are almost at the same levels as those outside of the church. As Christians we need to stop burying our heads in the sand about this and to know that it happens across all denominations. To say that homosexuality is 'the problem' is gravely misleading and quite simply untrue. Abuse happens between males and females, between same sex and with children. Abuse happens across the board.

Systems and institutions put people in those institutions in places of authority, and the system and the people around the leader or person in authority create a culture of untouchable leader, unaccountable leader, elevated leader... This leads to pride and a place where abuse is much more likely to happen. We as people in these systems need to create a Jesus culture, not a business culture, where we choose leaders for their character, not their giftings and skills, for their service to others not how charismatic they are. Those who are willing to be vulnerable and work on their weaknesses making a culture of openness and mutual growing together to be a people that act like Jesus.

On the issue of the pastor in jail. As a Canadian, when I hear Americans say that is a violation of rights. They think we have the same rights in Canada. We don't. Specifically to this case, "Section 33 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is part of the Constitution of Canada. It is commonly known as the notwithstanding clause (or la clause dérogatoire in French), or as the override power, and it allows Parliament or provincial legislatures to temporarily override certain portions of the Charter." Which they have done in this case. In short, the pastor has no rights under Canadian law.

Yes that is literally what we have had to do here in Canada. My church is now allowed 25 percent of capacity which means we can meet as a full membership but we have had to lock our doors as soon as service starts because the covid police have been parked outside our church taking notes the past 3 weeks.

Allie could you do an episode on "supposed christians" who say Jesus is the son of God but deny His deity and don't believe He is not only the son of God, but God the son. Brandon Tatum, a very popular conservative with 1.5 million followers has done several videos in which he says Jesus is not God, and picks and chooses from the Bible to make his case and I believe this is confusing and deceiving a lot of well meaning but new christians who don't know any better. All made worse by Brandon's new interest in "preaching". This is a good reminder to christians that no matter how much you agree with someone politically, don't assume their theology is solid even if they use Jesus's name all the time.

We are not OF the world, just in it for a time. There is a tipping point at which we will fly away, amen! Regarding the moral turpitude that is in bloom everywhere, let's be reminded that The Almighty is the author of morality. It is another 'proof' of God, that the world would be in utter depravity without the influence of The Holy Spirit of Truth, the Scepter of righteousness and the Sons of God. All of which are leaving soon, I think and hope! We are currently in the age of Grace, free to accept Christ as Lord, inviting Holy Spirit indwelling, and by His direction live without judgement (John 5:22, 5:27, & 8:15). But judgement is coming when the righteous leave. Picking a flower and killing a neighbor for their car will be the same thing. Subjective morality is laughable. Even after all of that, when the earth is upside down, inside out, and in complete darkness; there will be one last way through the narrow gate. Survive those seven days (years) and worship Christ at His return, or give your crown of life in witness to Him.

I think it's a great opportunity. I read somewhere (which I could be remembering incorrectly, so I apologize if it's wrong) that Glenn Beck used to be an Evangelical Christian until his daughter asked him to become Mormon because she had converted. Rather than lose his relationship with her, he converted. While it's not a move I would've made, I've never been put in that situation, so I can't comment with any authority. However, Allie could take this employment opportunity to share the true Gospel with Glenn Beck and be a tremendous witness so that he can be brought back to Jesus. If Christians were only allowed to work with other Christians, the majority of us wouldn't have jobs. (Edit: a word)

It says specifically in their books they are to call themselves Latter Day Saints, but at some point, they decided to say they were Christians. They had Ravi Zacharias speak at their Temple, and they are really into CS Lewis. I was listening to Crowder recently, the new guy, Dave, made a small joke about Mormonism that the average non Mormon probably wouldn't get. Immediately, the other guys were like, "Whoa!! Whoa! Oh, boy. Can't do that." They aren't going to touch LDS if it comes up. The LDS uses many of the same names that are in our Bible, and talks about the life of Jesus. Do you see how someone might get the impression that Allie's Christianity is the same as Beck's Mormonism? I'm not trying to pull anyone down. I just wonder about the wisdom of a partnership of this kind between a Christian and a Mormon when both of them talk about the spiritual war going on and who is on what side. I do agree that the Blaze is doing very good work in many ways.

I like Allie a lot(except when she's worshiping the moral cesspool Donald Trump). But I don't have an hour to invest in listening to a podcast all the time. I wish there was a Cliff note version!
