As nice as this build turned out, it does not look like the goths own this house at all. And as a reminder for people Gothic architecture has alot of white in it so the outside is actually really nice for a Gothic style.

Im not a big fan of this makeover. Honestly it doesn’t look very goth to me at all.. it kinda just looks like a modern home with all the white and bright colors. Black is more goth with maybe some hints of red or purple. This is just no.. its too colorful for a goth home. I do love your videos tho i just think this could have been done better.🥰

Being a Goth myself, I have to say I cringed at the new and improved version. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I would have personally used gray over white. Each to there own preferences.

I am with ya on that one. Deli has good taste and she made the house look beautiful, but that is not a goth house at all. It has none of the dark and foreboding vibe one sees in a goth's home. It's still a lovely reno, but might have been better suited to the Landgraab family.

yeah, i feel like she definitely could have brightened it up without going so far. red, purple, grey, even some browns and blues, would have accomplished the thing she initially said - making the architectural features more visible. instead she kinda ditched the goth aesthetic entirely and just went modern. she says it's traditional style still, but i feel like that (and her roofing and statement that 3 storey houses need more care to make them look good) is maybe a product of being australian? idk much abt architechtural history of australia, but maybe their "old" housing is generally less Old and more like... pre-ww2. bc the house went from 1800s to 1920s, and while both aesthetics are nice, the whole point of the goths is that they're *"old* money", not "new money" - which i would guess the line between those is sometime between 1850-1870, at the very latest. so the house _should_ look a bit dusty, at least outside... slightly faded siding and all that ....just due to it being over 150 years old. and probably _shouldn't_ be quite so flashy abt the fact they're loaded, bc culturally that's more of a "new money" thing, it's considered tacky for "old money" families. that was a bit of a ramble, but my main point is: yeah agreed. she missed the mark on this one, in terms of maintaining the aesthetic and the vibes.

@@jensencaldwell5101 yeh theres a few victorian era houses around but you would have to go out of your way to find them from when european settlers first started to build here but mostly what you see is your suburban homes and modern looking homes although i think its also more that deli just has a preferences for modern houses and thats what she spends here time looking at, i like older style homes that are more ornate and fits my goth esthetic more so thats what i tend to look at

I personally think that medium height walls are best. you get that feeling of more space without there being too much space. I'd only use tall walls for special venues.

I literally just redid the Goths in my save! I bulldozed the house and built a Queen Anne style home with a full wrap around porch. I kept the all black theme and used a bit of Harrie and Felix CC. I also gave the fam a refresh and aged up Bella, Cass, and Alex with new CC outfits and GrimCookies hairs for all!

I turned the Spencer Kim Lewis one into a community lot. It's an arts center. It has a dancefloor, a bar, a photo studio and media room, an internet cafe, a kids room, a dining room where you can hire a caterer and woodworking and crafts. I love turning base game houses into community lots. I also like to have my Sims leaving paintings and portraits on the wall when they visit. I love the whole house is literally based on Bella's penchant for red.

This looks like a lovely modern overhaul of a house built in 19th century. I love the kooky Victorian Gothic Literature vibe that the original build has and, when I renovated it a long time ago, I tried to make it look like it came straight out of Edgar Allan Poe's mind. I would've loved to have seen you get right out of your comfort zone trying to make a fully gothic Victorian era house. Maybe an idea for the future!

I very recently renovated the Goth house, too! Except I used a ton of CC. I went with a white brick with black windows and columns. I kept the inside a kinda Victorian or Georgian (maybe) vibe. I kept to darker wood flooring, mid/dark green hallways. I left the tall wall height, which was a pain, but couldn’t be bothered to adjust everything that would shift down. I extended Alex’s bedroom on the 3rd floor, made it the master bedroom with a spacious en-suite and private patio area for the Bella and Mortimer. I added a dedicated music room up there too. Cassandra got the old master bedroom and en-suite and the Alex got Cassandra’s old bedroom. Where the piano used to be on the 2nd floor landing, I added a little office for Mortimer. I added a basement too. A laundry room, small single bedroom for a butler and secret agent room for Bella, with bed and toilet. It was lots of fun, but tricky trying to keep to darker colours and older, ornate styles. I watched quite a few people take on the house as a Reno job and it was fun to see how people decorated it. Edit: finished the video, loved the modern look! The hallway looks fantastic. Really liked the kitchen and dinning rooms.

Really nice build, but would probably pick a grey over white, I think the white is too harsh and not gothic enough. I see what you did using modern and victorian decor, but I think it doesn't really make it look gothic, it looks more like a glamourous house instead. :) I'd love to see this as a series though!! Goth is "Dark." Plain and simple. Bright & Modern cannot be goth. along with Dark, Older/Victorian is also a Goth trait. Even if you're thinking Goth/Punk, there's still a sense of medieval about it. That's Goth's whole identity.

I redid the Goth house once, but to make it Gothic, as in the architecture: so white, vaulted and full of light. Was being cheeky, but a an old building like that wouldn't have been built to be dark originally, but would have probably darkened with age and disrepair. I might try it again, as I did it so long ago, so with much less building experience.

He’s quite handsome - no other changes besides a new wardrobe to complete his look. I was sad when my Sim flirted with him and he rejected her. He’s devoted to Bella, for sure. 💕
