Since my early ages I search about the gothic philosophy. We see so many stories and bullsh** about supernatural... when the heart of this idea is nothing but, to accept that saddness, problems, frustrations and even death (over all things) are part of us. Naturally, we are supposed to born and die, to smile and cry, our hearts beat fast when we're in love and also in danger. The way to understand, and accept this struggles of our life is by exploring the supernatural, the intense feeling of fear and emptiness that we're always avoidding. We must NOT worship death, but we must also not ignore it, we need to be intense on every aspect of our souls, go against our animal desires day after day. That's the way of dealing with our fate and who knows, we can reach another level of "humanity". "'Cause to be the judge, you must know the crimes", a sentence of mine. To find our courage and happyness, we must understand our fears and saddnes. At least this is what I think, and what I take for my life, the gothic style in every area, teaches us to never run from the dark, but goes through it and find the light at the end the journey.

It is nice to hear somebody talk about the true gothic style. I love proper Victorian gothic fiction, films. interiors and architecture because it is so devour of life that Freud's sublimation defense mechanism mentioned in this video is easy for somebody such as myself to apply because I am neurodivergent and I do not naturally fit into societies conventions. I think this sense of feeling a connection with the past in gothic elements may also be expressed through Freud's protege Carl Jung's archetypes that I see as having a genetic connection on a evolutionary level passed down to each of us into our collective unconscious. In a sense I think we are also cultivating the gothic in our own lifetime for the future generations through our phenotypes that adapt according to our environment and interplay with our inherited genotypes. I feel a sense of jubilation and completeness when I experience gothic style in my life. This is the individuation process Jung described about the amalgamation of the conscious awareness and the dark unconscious states of minds that adds meaning to my life. It completes my true self at the centre of this vacuum of my mind called the psyche.
