Thank You, Thank You Eric!! I descend from Richard Harding (1587-1657) who, with his pregnant wife, son and two brothers, along with their sister (some say cousin) Mary Harding Gorges, wife of Sir. Robert, were part of this Gorges Party. I've been doing research prior to the 400th Anniversary of their arrival at Wessagusset, next month (September 2023) and stumbled on this fantastic, well researched piece. The Hardings stayed in and around Weymouth after Sir Robert returned to England. Another descendant of Richard Harding the immigrant was Warren G. Harding (1865-1923) 29th President of the United States, who died 100 years ago this month.

Another great podcast Eric, I really enjoy your work even though I'm from Australia I am fascinated by this period in history, I would love to see you do a series about the settlement of Australia with your unique spin on all the characters involved

This was great. I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel. Some of the best history lectures are happening here. Great niche topics. I have learned a lot already, on a relatively niche history subject I thought I knew well. Keep them coming !

Great episode. Looking forward to the New Hampshire episode (my home state). Are you familiar with the John Cabot scholarship of Dr Alwyn Ruddock (that is, the scholarly attempt to recover it). If not, I'd love to hear your take on it.

This episode is sounding like something that my presumed 10th great uncle(?) Sir Thomas Egerton would be involved in. YesI'm extremely familiar with John Mason. He lived in Norwich, CT. at the same time my 9th great grandfather did.
