Yesterday I had my first rounds in 3 months. Straight into legend, no warm up. Had a nice group. We made a point of pulling every patrol and I as GK, I must admit, I had a great time.

@@ThePartyKnife I didn't run Exe sword, but bret-longsword and bret-longsword with shield. It's so funny when I think back to the time when my reaction was the same as the characer's when I saw a chaos warrior, at least cautious if not fearful. Now it's a "let me at 'em!"

I love bret sword + shield combos especially with high stamina you can infinite chain block push + light attack and can cheese patrols and hordes on legend

i like that grail knight let's me use 2 swords at once. generally bret longsword and executioner sword is really good, but i like to run the imperial greatsword as the secondary, just because i think the huge cleave and basic attack pattern covers the longsword's negatives. the essential gimmick of this build is to stack as many damage buffs at once, with the +30% on kill and the +20% on a timed block. i run parry on my bret longsword so i can focus on more damage perks on my equipment (+chaos/armored). the secondary sword will usually be running the classic swift slaying build, as i can proc with it and switch back to the bret longsword. it's harder to play than your conventional shielded build (or anything else using the +30% stamina regen), but i think parries are really good in the right hands and can elevate your playstyle when used correctly. i can vouch for parry as a clutch tool in quite a few situations, 100% block cost reduction is nothing to laugh at.

I'm confused by the bonus damage to the 1st enemy hit. The 1st enemy you hit on the map gets bonus damage, but that's it? Or does it refresh every so often so you can use it more than once a map?

First enemy in a swing! :) So if you cleave through 4 enemies than the first one you sliced through gets the damage boost!

Check how fast you can run with GK M&S light + q + q combo. I made script for it on autohotkey, i just spam one key and run like 30% faster. Also i know shield or M&S + Exe is meta, but for me, at least on legend best build is... M&S + Greathammer, which is surprisingly unpopular. I know Exe heavies are amazing, but Greathammer lights are so much faster, it deals more DPS while having better stagger... and utility of staggering infinite armored enemies. And best build (on legend) is easily concoction + potion benion + horizontal ulti, a bit selfish, but so much fun. Oh a patrol + horde? Poof its gone. Oh a monster + horde + specials? All gone. Its the only build that outshines Shade cloak of mist in terms of melee.

Good video, but these are more general Vermintide build tips then Grail Night specific ones. Everything is viable if "I know what I'm doing". Some general thoughts from me: stagger THP talent is at max ok even with high stagger weapons, kill THP talent is game changer and has good synergy with ulti ; lack of range weapon makes shield weapons must have ; Horizontal ulti is much more versatile ; low attack speed weapons feel super clunky on GK.

Hey PK , I’m a ranger vet main .I use dual hammers and the push block attack is so bad because it has no cleave .How do you melee with him effectively without getting hit ?

yeah the only good use for the push/block attack is the ''hidden'' attack that you can do if you light attack after the push block attack which triggers an overhead attack with insanely high armor dmg! :P As for fighting hordes there is really nothing much to do other than spamming light attacks whilst doing effective dodges. I still don't get Virtue of Knightly Temper, if their health is less than 4 times the crit damage, won't they die anyway??? If my crit damage is 100, and they have 24 or below, they will die anyway, am I wrong? Is there more to it? Like maybe yanno you can only go through so many enemies cus of mass? Does maybe the instantly slain enemy mass no longer count so you can go through more? Or maybe cus damage drops normally enemy after enemy in a single sweep, will the damage stay the same kind of thing for all so yu instantly wipe out loads of enemies rather than maybe just a few? What exactly does this talent do???

If your crit damage is 100 and they have less than 400 health then you execute the minion! :) I admit this talent confused the shit out of me in the beginning as well haha xD Anyways thanks for watching m8! ;)

I was reading up about it and people were mentioning that with that talent, if you have health on kill, it won't proc temp hp, is that still a thing or did they fix it? Also honestly it would have been easier to understand is they worded it like this: "Critical strikes instantly slay enemies if the amount of damage is at least one quarter of their current health. Half effect versus Lords and monsters." This makes so much more sense to me.

It's certainly a viable weapon and I would probably run crit chance + block cost + swift slaying with the smiter talent and temp hp on kills! :) Hope that helps!

i dont see much point of having concoction and the strenght pot talent cuz u get 2 ults with it and only 1 is actually with the strenght pot, but with a purple pot and decanter u can ult 4 times and do double the damage !? I guess the point is u either are sure u have the pot and 2 ults or u risk to find purple and do 4 ults...

I just try to convey what I think is the current strongest meta but the great thing about this game is that up to cataclysm difficulty all weapons can be made viable! And thanks for watching!

Bruh I run mace and great sword and it works well cause I found out the great sword can one shot multiple berserkers and plague rats on heavy attack so just experiment because I also found out the mace can one shot rats and 2 shot chaos warriors on headshots and is faster than the exe so it works well

@@ThePartyKnife By the way, after playing some Grail Knight (just bought the DLC), I've noticed that the Bret. Sword and Shield has some pretty high mobility with [push attack] -> [light attack]. I'm not certain whether you mentioned it in the video, but it's great for catching up to blightstormers or leeches before they can teleport away, as well as easily escaping the wind (or simply when you have to run for your life). Shields also have innate stamina regen (or half the base regen delay of regular weapons, can't remember exactly) and since stamina is shared between the melee weapons, you can use the shield to quicker regen the stamina of your aggressive weapon. Shields also have higher stamina count which can be useful to keep in mind since, if you've run out of stamina on your aggressive weapon, you can swap to your shield which will still have as much stamina as the difference between the weapons (a little simplified, but generally speaking). As a side note, I've become slightly addicted to opportunist lately, lol.
