The Gran Turismo 7 Career Mode We Should've Got

I have created my very own careeer mode in Gran Turismo 7. This is a single player experience you can create too, using the tools avaliable to us.
The rules are simple:
1. Only the prize money earned can be used to upgrade your car.
2. Stick to the regulations
3. Start from the back of the grid

Hey, thanks a lot. Glad your enjoying it 😁...yeah so, I kept it as close to the real Clio Cup GB regs as i could. Weight stage 3 Height adjustable suspension Racing drilled discs Racing pads Stiffened body to simulate a rollcage Racing mediums And thats about it. Any more would be a breech of real life regs 😁 Sorry, i should of made this clearer in the video 👍

Goodwood is what vauxhall used for testing the btcc cars for thruxton as they have similar flow and slow points and the track time is comparable to less than a second.

Just to say as well, loved our passion from the gt8 feature video, this career mode is certainly better. I cant remember if i mentioned it before but to have a rags to riches game that isn't exactly linear would be most welcome! Plus do the single player stuff as a 'per driver' thing so we can restart with different starting challenges that a lot of content creators do with GT4. Lets see how you get on in the next video for this career.

I've done something similar to this. I created a full grid of JGTC cars, both GT300 and GT500 and raced then through 6 rounds against the AI. Loads of fun, can't wait for the next video!

Yeah, its cracking fun. I needed to disadvantage myself though because even on professional difficulty it became too easy. Throw on some ballast, or play around with tyres.

Very good vid I really love the idea, if this ever comes to reality, we need an appropiate car roster: Updated GT3 and GT4 roster, since the current one is lacking, and update certain brands road cars

if i'm not mistaken, this AI isn't sophy, its the default AI, you didn't really lose the rear, if you get into the AI's racing line they make zero effort to slowdown.

I’m the 195th subscriber and that is the shocking part. This is prime content, the most famous GT even today is GT4 and I stand behind that, so glad you did a replicated experience into the (possibly second to worst) new Gran Turismo (GT6 is the worst as it had good features but was PS3 only)

You mentioned the Sophy AI on Tsukaba but were on a custom race. Do you think the AI is better on the tracks with Sophy even when not using the quick race Sophy AI? That would make sense and be a really interesting thing!

I know lol i really messed up there. I didnt realise. But i did think it was weird. They definitely seemed to race me harder at Tsukuba than any other the other tracks. Maybe a future video idea 💡

The unfortunate reality is it's not just GT7 that has no career mode, but all recent racing/driving games: Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon, ACC, AC, iRacing. The only racing games that have actual progression are games like NFS due to the stories they tell, and F1 due to the career mode and "Breaking Point" story modes. The hardcore sims use the excuse it's the mechanical driving the primary audience wants to focus on. But even many hardcore simmers want a "Zero to Hero" progression that gives them a reason to drive with the most realistic physics possible. Simcades like GT7 and Forza, don't focus on career modes any more because of who their audiences are: Mostly casuals (and especially kids for Horizon) who just want to jump into a Lamborghini, and drive fast. Nothing wrong with this, but they would most likely get bored with a lengthy and in-depth career mode that used to exist in the early GT games, NFS Shift 1 & 2, GRID Race driver, etc. Today's audience wants instant gratification. Hence, why Horizon has overtaken Motorsport that used to be geared toward older and more patient gamers. Also, publishers hyper focus on microtransactions and Live Service MP monetization has shifted the focus away from single player careers because MP can't be "fair and balanced" unless everybody has instant access to all the cars... Especially, ones they might have to pay for in DLC packs. It's a whole new era racing games are being made in, and we're never going to get back to the days of curated careers that take 50-60 hours or more to complete because single player is just not the priority anymore. Keep up the great work, and you earned a new sub!

@repetetivebeats so... All Clios running: Height adjustable suspension Weight stage 3 Racing discs and pads Increase body rigidity to simulate a roll cage Racing mediums. Because the drivers change with each race, i just did teams and focused on that. Please let me know if theres anything else 👍 Thank you!!

I thought i was the only one lol. Mine is on its last legs. Basically all i could do was download some software from thrustmaster and then i had to change something in the settings so the fan constantly runs. That helped for a while. Thanks Vettel 👍

GT7 is a wierd middle ground stuck between single player and Sport. Its sad to see they dont put in work to make a good single player. I have my doubt for GT8 having a classic GT campaign like GT3 and GT4.

Single player hasn’t evolved since the original GT (yes, I played it on PS1). Chase from the back, one or two front-runners to chase down, the rest are just obstacles. And ZERO actual racing or anything even remotely competitive. Only the number of AI cars has increased. Really sad that PD just focus on physics and mechanics, and the racing experience is secondary.

I had to create it myself. Its something thats really missing from GT7. Logged everything and just kept scores basically. Created the Clio Cup cars out of a bunch of Clio RS 220's and tuned them up to the Clio Cup Regulations 👍

Very costly lol I had to buy 5-6 Clio RS220's along with theyre tuning parts and add custom liveries to each.
