In Lochdown, they discussed what cars they've kept from their adventures over the years and if I remember right, James said he only ever kept his beach buggy from their trip to Namibia. He's got to keep that Evo. He has to. He should bring it back to the UK and restore it. It deserves that much.

To see James May crash is scary because he's such a careful driver. I actually think part of it was the lighting in the tunnel, it really changed perspective and perception of speed, distance and the view ahead. It was absolutely obvious that its staged, you could clearly see how shallow it was, the car was stable the entire time, nobody from the crew tried to rescue him (which they surely would during non-staged accidents, such as tunnel crash, Rimac crash etc), only Hammond and Clarkson made that absolutely idiotic rescue mission and just pulled that Evo into the water instead of simply pulling it from the front where it was still on the surface. Hell, May could just jump from the hood on the ice, it would surely be thick enough if it was holding front of the car with an engine in it. There are some non staged incidents, but well, sad to ruin your point of view, most of their actions are fully staged. That one on the lake as well. Hammond inside the shed going down the hill was prerecorded as well, obviously. Probably filmed when he is being pulled behind a car under safe circumstances. Then they just pushed the empty shed down the hill. Despite that almost entire show is staged and kinda "fake", its still a great fun, I enjoy watching it a lot, just be aware of that and dont be that guy who tries to convince others that Top Gear and The Grand Tour are fully spontaneous

Probably my favorite special from these 3. The Evo always will have a special place in my heart because the first car I really learned to drive was my dads Evo X. It physically hurt watching May crash the Evo and I was watching with my dad and I told him there was no way in hell I’d be doing that in that dark tunnel with that sharp of a turn with the lights taking forever to turn on. But that Evo won the whole show in my opinion. Absolute beast of a car

Like I said, the one I drive crashed into a pile of tires and lived on. Actually it crashed 3 times in its entire life and it drives like a demon. And the best thing it still has its first turbo and for several years now it runs mapped on 102 octane fuel and 380hp. It also has more than 190.000km

I didnt breathe until the blue ambulance lights came on. It was wild. The initially uncontrolled descent down the mountain was wild too. Im really glad the evo didnt sink anymore. Stealing that winch idea for later.
