Yep, them Spaniard conquistedores were the helpful type. They surely pitched in and helped the Indians build temples dedicated to the pagan deities they were sworn to...wait, scratch that. Better think that one out again. Great vid Dr. M.

That last comment by the tourist though. It always strikes me as interesting (not in a good way) that so many people just assume that native people in the Americans didn't know anything prior to the Europeans arriving.

@@Jordi_Llopis_i_Torregrosa96 While they did work metal, at most they could be described as being in the "copper age" as they were firmly rooted in neolithic technology. Iron age is a bit of a stretch as they didn't use it but your point is clear

Last video my gf made a bit of a whoopsie for thinking gobekli tepe was in Mexico and I made fun of her for it. Now this video I didn't read the description and saw "Ek Balaam" and thought this was still part of the trip to turkey 🤣🤣 I guess I got my comeuppance... Also that little anecdote there at the end was insane! Sucks when an opportunity to educate someone goes to waste...

They still haven't entirely. There is a large amount of clearing and restoration work still going on on the monument's northeastern side. Also, two other structures, almost the same size are on either side of it (all together forming an upside-down U shape) that are still entirely unexcavated and overgrown.

@@WorldofAntiquity I have proof if you want.. In 2019 they had that whole area blocked off and covered with sheets to block view.. It was pretty dead that day so I jumped over some blocked off no zone areas and snuck behind the taped off area and took videos it was only empty rooms with nothing at all. Then last year I went there and now that whore area is magically there I when have workers on video making that mouth (it was half done when I was there last year) now I see in your video its fully built.
