FYI....Dietary cholesterol is only found in animal products and animal by-products. Our bodies naturally make the amount of cholesterol that we need, however, humans increase the level by consuming animal products and animal by-products. Sooooo to reduce cholesterol naturally, simply switch to a non processed vegan diet.

Many patients are unable to tolerate Statin therapy, SAMS being the most common cause of statin intolerance. "Researchers found that STATINS activate a gene signal in muscles called Atrogin-1. When this gene activates, it targets key muscle proteins for destruction. The activation of this gene drives the process of muscle atrophy and muscle wasting. It is induced in cardiac muscle in failing hearts. Since its initial discovery, Atrogin-1 has been found in every existing model of muscle wasting. Sounds pretty good for the heart, doesn't it? Why in the world would any person want this gene activated by a Statin drug? Unfortunately, you won't be reading about this on the Medline website. The sins of omission are immense when it comes to the statin industry. "

It’s still statins. We don’t need to lower cholesterol, and statins don’t only target ldl. Most recent papers now show plaque is caused by oxidative stress, not cholesterol. Because researchers found cholesterol along red blood cells, they assumed it’s the cholesterol. Spoiler alert, red blood cells also contain cholesterol. It’s the basis of healthy functioning.

When a doctor has given 100 prescribtions for Statins, he or she simply stops listening to the complains from the patients, and they would not report any side effect, because they dont want to be acused for harming the patients overall health, for some very little benefits if any. The patients take the medicine out of fear, not common sense. All practicing doctors knows that they are caught in that trap, but you will never make them confess that to you. Hello. I’m really enjoying your videos, Doctor Malhotra. Last year, after doing much research from doctors from several countries and from over several years and doctors of a variety of ages, I was convinced statins were doing them harm and discussed them with my parents, who are in their mid 80’s. They had both been on statins for several years. (They didn’t have any heart problems. They were prescribed ‘just in case!’ ) I saw my father’s health going down. My mother had been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. They decided to stop the statins. Their health has much improved! I’m just so angry at doctors who put profits over patients. For me, the bottom line is: statins can cause muscle weakness: the heart is a muscle. It’s just so obvious! Who wants a weak heart?

If you learn the role of cholesterol in the immune response, as a precursor to the steroid hormones, the transportation of fat-soluble molecules throughout the body, etc, you'll quickly realize it plays an important role in the body. If the body has incresed levels, it's because it is acting intelligently based on stimuli. The enzyme statisn inhibit, HMG CoA reductase, has other role such as the synthesis of coenzyme Q10. Why do people take statins? Primarily to avoid atherosclerosis. What many do not realize however is that it is the oxidation of LDL cholesterol that causes them to promote atherosclerosis. If you want to avoid atherosclerosis, lower oxidtative stress by avoiding fats that are highly susceptible to random lipid peroxidation and set your system up for glutathione production. There's no magic pill you can take for the chronic diseases that are presently rampant. You need to address your lifestyle and fix the system.
@atm44147 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not everyones body acts "intelligently" as you say. Much of our liver's level of lipogenesis genetically predetermined. Some people can eat a diet high in saturated fats and have excellent lipid profiles, while others can eat very healthy diets low in saturated fats and have hyperlipidemia. While oxidation is necessary for atherogenesis to occur, remaining completely devoid of free radicals is an impossibility. Hence why statins are important...unless you would rather die early from a potentially avoidable vascular event.
@nickb32507 жыл бұрын
Would you describe "excellent lipid profiles"? I assume you're of the position that high cholesterol is bad- the end. Most of the studies cited to make that argument are observational and have since been annotated and have had their findings reversed as they control for factors such as frailty measures. Either way, for the sake of discussion let's ignore observational studies and stick to known biological mechanisms. While I appreciate there may be some genetic variance, significant increases in cholesterol synthesis are caused by the body's perception and response to stimuli: bolster the innate immune system, increase glucocorticoid synthesis, etc. Pubmed has countless studies demonstrating this. I completely agree that oxidative stress is a part of life that can not be avoided perfectly. Life is stress; if you're not encountering stressors you're not alive. However, the body is equipped with the ability to defend itself using natural antioxidants such as glutathione and ubiquinol. Antioxidants such as a-tocopherol are available in foods. Living organisms- humans or otherwise- have been and continue to be equipped with tools to handle oxidative stress. Lowering your cholesterol with a drug to prevent atherosclerosis is like chopping down a forest to prevent wildfires. The forest isn't inherently dangerous and has many great benefits. Cholesterol isn't inherently dangerous and has many great benefits. Under certain circumstances they can both be modified to cause damage. What's next? Stop eating protein and glucose to prevent glycation?
@DrR1pper7 жыл бұрын
_"Some people can eat a diet high in saturated fats and have excellent lipid profiles, _*_while others can eat very healthy diets low in saturated fats and have hyperlipidemia._*_ "_ - This is where you are unfortunately mistaken atm4414. A diet low in saturated fats is intrinsically not a very healthy diet. Also, those on low saturated fat diets tend to be on overall low fat diets as well which necessarily means high in carbohydrates which tend to also result in high sugar intake as well, which goes a long way to explaining the propensity for hyperlipidemia.
@dmana31727 жыл бұрын
High Cholesterol does not cause heart disease. It's inflammation caused by high blood sugar, elevated homocysteine and LDL that is small and oxidized, not the LDL that are big and fluffy. We needs both LDL and HDL for our brain and there's no limit on how much cholesterol our body needs. When we get older, cholesterol level goes up and that is part of healthy aging. What doctors should focus on is not those numbers, but the size of the particles. On the other hand, if we take statin to keep cholesterol level under 200, that is a bad idea. Why? Because if our brain needs more than 200 and Statin wouldn't let our liver make more, than that would increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease in the long run.
@loganwolv33932 жыл бұрын
@@atm4414 Well in theory then saturated fats cannot cause atherogenesis because saturated fats only increase large buoyant LDL. And even then how does this large LDL cause heart disease, cancer and so on? Why does the body have such low tolerance of LDL?
