Fun interview! I've been thinking about the commercial grade lights going out and how to fix them, since inevitably I'm going to have the same problem. I think the LED Keeper should be able to tell you the affected bulbs, then you should be able to cut it out, cut out a good one from a line you dedicate for fixing, and then solder and heat shrink it in place. And if that works, it's a good idea for a video, Charlie And, I feel like it will be a breeze for Dad in the off season- clearly he has some mad electrical skills!

Hmmm, that’s an interesting idea, Laura! I just redid my heat shrink video, which covers part of what you’re suggesting, but I hadn’t thought about actually replacing the socket on LED sets. I can see that being a huge help for those older incandescent sets where you have to keep the voltage balance consistent across the string. With LED sets, especially commercial-grade ones, replacing individual bulbs could definitely extend their life. I’m sure other decorators would love having an extra fix-it trick up their sleeve. Thanks for the idea!
