I like how it was sunny when 37884 + the class 319 was waiting at Dorridge, but just as it departed down came the ☔☺

Brilliant captures of these classic locos that just go on and on! Hard to imagine that the first one was built in the same year as the last steam loco 92220 and that was withdrawn in 1965! All the different liveries are good too saw so many in rail blue this adds another dimension.

Great comment from you about these great long lasting locos mate, I just can't see them being replaced in the near future, which in my mind and yours great news. Cheers Mike.

Great compilation Mike. For some reason, 50 years ago ( wow) I never appreciated the 37s, preferred the 40s. But now....,amazing how many are still mainline, got to be my favorite mainline class!

Great video again Mike. It's great to see those wonderful workhorses still doing the job they were built for. Hopefully 37403 will soon be joining them. Isle of Mull is running again with a zero hours power unit. This shortage of lorry drivers could be a great thing for rail freight, but I see that Freightliner has mothballed the electric locomotives due to the price of electricity!
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
Its always great to have another class 37 on the mainline Alistair, and thanks for watching this video. Yes that is right about Freightliner, and I believe DRS has now followed on some of there class 88 workings Alistair. So a greener railway has gone out of the window. Cheers Mike.

Fabulous stuff Mike and made up for my disappointment of the western not coming on tour on the 25th. I really feel for all of those booked for a western and I also feel for the DTG in keeping this locomotive going. As a Dawlish lad I’m not a massive fan of 50s ,I’d rather a pair of decent 37s hauling the tour. Still.thanks for putting up another class video. Al the best Andy
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
Oh Andy, I know the Western was on test today but I didn't know It had been cancelled next Saturday as I was going to film It somewhere. Thanks for watching my video of the class 37s, I will be coming down your way tomorrow, ok I will find out now what's going on with that class 52. Cheers Mike.

@@antman09ful1 yes, I’m out doing some still photography on the 50s that are coming through tomorrow at the Warren. I won’t be bothering when they come the week after,I’ll be on a beach clean up now . Safe journey to god’s wonderful country Andy
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
Oh right you are helping to keep the beach's clean then Andy, well done in doing that. Yes I travelled to Penzance on the train yesterday filming the 50s where I could but the 50s lost time both ways on the banks as you probably know. We will have a few days down your way new week with our dog, so can you make sure we don't get no rain please Andy. ps are you going to the GWSR next weekend.

@@antman09ful1 fairly good weather here Mike, no rain until the end of the week. No, not going this year as I have other things on,next year I’m booking up for the whole event and staying in the Cotswolds. Enjoy your few days down here Andy

hello Mike great video, proper diesels as i remember in the 60s, the yellow DSBO looks like the one Anglia Railways used. i used to see loads of them at Liverpool st station and stratford with the 86s heading towards Norwich,now due to clown activity by abelio there is no loco on that run just an emu. in 1969 i remember class 37s at liverpool st station
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
I do as well Peter seeing proper locos at Liverpool St when It was a station, not a dark hole like it is now. I was told by a person in the no, that Greater Anglian wanted the same set up like TPE have to replace the class 90s but they were overruled. So now when the plastic things go for a service they have to split the train at Crown Point as they can't fit into the shed. Thanks for watching Peter.
@marcushenno3 жыл бұрын
I love these locos, the whole driving postion/ its engine sounds so nice/ plus built in this country many many years ago. Can any train driver jump into these and drive them? Wonder if that class 66 wanted to swap
@philipstanley81423 жыл бұрын
The class 37s were one of the better designs to come out of the transition to diesel traction but the modern locos built abroad are providing operators with a better availability due to their reliability. The class 66 has been a revelation for the freight sector.
@antman09ful13 жыл бұрын
Yes I do agree with your comment Philip regarding the sheds, but at the moment they can't do without the great class 37s Mike.
