We bought some land in an old mango Grove about 20-25 minutes outside of Davao City. Our property is unique everyone says it’s like being in the province but yet we have access to everything modern within 10 to 15 minutes. We have the best of both worlds.

I haven't lived there but have visited a lot. Here in the states I prefer "province" living but not too far from a decent sized city. Like where I grew up was very rural, Daniel Boone National forest area in Ky but only about 45 minutes from Lexington or Knoxville. I find that my preference applies there as well. We have bought property about 45 minutes from Tacloban, which has most of what we would want to do. I can foresee the occasional week long visit to Cebu and maybe Manila

I live (part of the year) in New Jersey, one hour away from NYC. Why would you want to live in Manila / big city if you can get to Manila / city in 1 hour from a much cleaner, cheaper, quality place? Also, almost all Philippines' big cities are in low flat lands (floods) where it's hot and humid. Choose a 1 hour-away place in the mountain (cooler, no floods, typhoon safe). Lastly, in my case, I own a small cheaper condo in Manila, so when I want to do something in Manila, I have a place.

Interesting fun vid to end the year.. Having grown up in the province (deep in Smokey Mountains) I appreciate the difference between province and city. Have a great New year.

My wife and I have a couple of houses in Antipolo, Rizal, a city of around 800,000 people, an hour or so from Manila. We also own a house in Angono, where we spend most of our time. We have a business and property in Theresa, in the sticks, so we can enjoy both city and provincial life.

We have no hate crimes, no junkie tent cities, no serial killers, no campus or mass shootings in The Philippines. I, my kids as well as my mom walked to n ftom our house, school, market, etc for half a kilometer for decades even in the wee hours of night or dawn without issue.

That's not a problem . There are provinces that have beautiful cities . Pampanga has Clark Global City , Laguna has Nuvali Sta. Rosa , Iloilo has Iloilo city , Zambales has SBMA , Benguet has Baguio . You can live in the province and enjoy the city life

Hey, I like you guys, thanks. I moved from Manila December 15 to Liloan and a new 60m2 1 bed beautiful apartment. Roosters from dusk to day liight, not too bad. The worst is the people around me with karaoke machines that are played at the highest volume by people who can't sing! They play them all the time until 2:00-5:00am. OMG New Years was HELL! I'm going insane! I'm going to Lupa-lupa condo or Boracay condo January 5th. No more province for me, give me city lights

Maybe I should get some roosters to keep the dogs alert. I was thinking a Baka but they're expensive. Lambs have problems with the rains. Had a Turkey for awhile. We have farmland near Tagaytay.

Province in the Philippines I tried it once just as a vacation home but never again. There is nothing there. Below 0 for me. When I say nothing no shopping, no restaurants or decent restaurants. No healthcare. Nothing.

@@marcoexplores4175 hope u do not get sick or need to get to a decent hospital,,,,I have had many friends who almost died in province hospitals. They sent me pics, dirty and disgusting. Im too much of a foodie that i can live in a province. Maybe in the future if i have learned to cook all the food i like. But still life is very simple in the province, not much action going on. Also the next hospital might be too far away. Could be a thing when im old. Baguio has the perfect size, but is frequently overrun by tourists on holidays and weekends. This sucks!!!

Marco, You're comment on the innocence of the province girls and how intoxicating it can be really resonated with me on my visit to the Philipines. So John the question we all wanted you to ask Marco is does he now have someone of interest in the Province ? HaHa.
yes,,,its amazing how they let a dog bark all night and do nothing,,,,
@marcoexplores41752 күн бұрын
I agree. The dogs can be a nuisance. I personally am in favor of getting rid of all the stray dogs. They do not provide any service that I know of. Stray cats get rid of rodents and keep themselves clean. Stray dogs generally are dirty, unhealthy,and miserable. I will say that Filipino dogs are much nicer than Mexican stray dogs.
