@ 7:00-7:20 is my Filipina fiancé, she protects me from her family, however she doesn't hide it - we are very transparent and open about everything. She's been the supporter of her family being a business owner so I get the "dependency culture" that exists. We have been in an LDR since the pandemic, we video chat every day, and I've made multiple trips to the PI to visit her. She's very emotionally mature so she doesn't play games or do the tampo thing, and we never argue. We've had disagreements but we talk them out like adults.

@@garytibonot me. I was Gio’s best friend for two years in Cebu and then went off to Vietnam with him and Reekay and Jason. I predicted he would drop Ging as soon as the pandemic lockdown lifted and I predicted his marriage would not last more than about a year. I also told friends a week ago he’d leave Dumaguete, which he just announced today and I’ll predict he’ll live back on Mactan next. I can read him like a dusty old book.

@CarlWithACamera . If Gio was my friend, I would advise him to reconsider his life a bit. He has left one or 2 young boys behind. I know men lose custody and sometimes visitation with their kids after divorce. But at times, if you insist nicely, the ex could give you one weekend a month with your boy or more. While that is not enough, I would suggest it is better than nothing and as you bond with your boy, you might get more days. But also, when dad goes too far away, the kids have a sense of being abandoned. When they know you are a mile away even if they don't see you, they know you are available anytime, should they need you. So the dude should go back to the dude , look for a job and attempt to connect with the boy or boys. He tried women, there is no more to see😂

Very good advise. My wife and I have been married well over 25 years and are still committed and happy and I find what you say to be spot on! For me Tampo is a deal breaker. Tampo is a selfish control tool that destroys relationships. Over time Tampo can be eliminated but both parties must be willing to work on it.

I totally agree with the message of the video. Most westerners, at least Europeans, are not going to accept tampo (manipulative behavior), utang na loob (gold digging), and in Scandinavia, we don't accept social hierarchies either. Personally, I don't get the hype apart from the idea of Filipinos being "relationship orientated" and courtship culture. Those are pretty good. I think that Filipinos have no idea how large the cultural differences are.

Other than a toxic tanpo (they think suyo will prove themselves they arr trully loved), Although it is with any humankind, The INSECURITIES of a filipina makes it very difficult for foreigners with their relationship. UNbelievable how it is the cause of anything! If they can overcome that, then it is way better to deal with anything because they can talk the right way with respect and understanding. Thank you John for another great video. Appreciate that because it will somehow help and open the minds of filipinas if they are teachable and humble enough to accept this.

No matter where your girl is from. You must maintain relationships with other women. Not to cheat, to keep your social circle balanced. It’s healthier than hanging out with only men. It also keeps your woman in place. By seeing how easy you have respectful relationships with other women. This well rounded perspective seems to do wonders on the jealousy front. For those who say she could in turn do the same thing. A woman that doesn’t only hangout with other women. Yet stay’s faithful to you. Is much more balanced and interesting to be around. If you don’t have confidence in yourself. This lifestyle is not for you. Simply stay with what’s not working and perfect starting all over again.

First, 2.5 years isn't a lot of time even if you were married. Thats honeymoon and it is almost always good in those years. Second yours is online, there are lots of frictions that happen in real life and don't happen online. Third I do hope you haven't seen your lady in 2.5 years... cause it suggests one or more of these things: you don't care enough to spend money and time to go to the Philippines for a hug, or you can't afford to take 2 weeks off work and pay 2k to fly over. In either case, it doesn't sound too good and I wouldnt recommend that. Now I might be wrong you probably visit now and then but still LDR are filled with mines especially in this age of social media. Good luck but please refrain from thinking you have a model relationship to emulate. Too soon to tell.😂 Some of us have years of marriage and kids , but we still can't go about thinking we know how it works.

When you meet the right Filipina, it can be like no other. When both people give in their own way. The reason they don’t work has many reasons. I’m in an age gap relationship and we never had a problem anywhere we’ve traveled including in the U S. Never any dirty looks at least that we’ve noticed. We even did a road trip in an RV for six months in the U S. And never a funny look. I have nothing but good things to say about my age gap relationship. I also dated other Filipinas and I had good luck with great women they didn’t work out for one reason or another. The blame never goes on the Filipina it takes two and I take the blame equally. I’ve never put the blame on my partner. Blaming others doesn’t work for me.
@markjalessian
@markjalessian 20 күн бұрын
The main reason for failed relationships is always the wish to change the other partner. The relationship must be based on mutual acceptance and understanding, nobody wants to be forced to change. If you're not happy with how your partner is, walk away before getting married or having kids. Learn to love yourself before trying to love someone else.

Yeah, for the sake of argument though (and my own experience), I'd say relationship don't end cos of conflict. In the west, at least where I was when I was there, it seemed many longterm relationships ended cos of this mix of gov't, big business and (female) peer pressure. If there was conflict, I'd say it was often privoked by the woman to have a reason to end things. The constant propaganda from the state that men/women relationships usually were "unequal" and a source of oppression of course hardly convinced women to "stand by their man". Spice that with large subsidies, laws and regulations, etc, makibg life as "single mom" way more affordable than in the ol' days and divorce is just "one step away". Adding all the commercial dating sites, clothing companies, real estate agents, social media comlanies and what have you, and you have lots if businesses profiting from separation and divorce. I remember "my" real estate agent spilled the beans once, if it wasn't for separations and divorces we'd be out of business, you know ppl don't die all that often. They may move for other reasons, but you don't need so many realtors for that, a tenth maybe. And last, the peer pressure ladies seem to put on each other in rhe west, basically disregarding men as human beings with their own emotions and needs to belong, instead weaponizing it and be on their "sisters" tails to let them know, they must keave their guy now cos he don't deserve you and that the grass is much greener elsewhere. These are sick societies in my opinion. In the Ph., I agree it's different, it's not the gov't/business run conspieacy as in the west, but there are other factors, like family ties and narcissism. Family ties may seem good, but not if you as the foreign bf/hubby are way down the list of your gal's priorities, while her family is at the top, indeed is not gonna work a long time. Or if the "narc component" is too present, she turns hot 'n cold for no real reason, she brings up other guys to make you feel bad, she goes tampo for reasons unknown, etc, etc. I believe here it's called toxic, whatever, it still signals an inability to have real connections with someone, instead ut just all comes down to zero sum games, and that's in the good cases. In the bad cases you have to deal with insanity and scams. Well, I figure if they hadn't filled up the west with so many young guys from 3rd world countries, ruining the gender balance there, there provably wouldn't be so many "oldies" migrating to the 3rd world, or developing countries, if that sounds better. I figure some filipinas are just overwhelmed nowadays of all the foreigners, not least on social media, looking for romance and what not, while spending lots of dollars 😅

Yes, I understand this topic is a little bit confusing. It is true that Filipino citizens living in the Philippines can't get divorced and can only get annulled. However, Filipino and foreigner marriages can end in divorce. But they need to get a divorce in the foreigner's country, or as in my case, a territory of the US. OK, this comment may take a minute and I am looking for some advice. I’ve been to the Philippines a couple times I’m not real active on Facebook and social media, but I do have some friends on Facebook that are Filipino about three weeks ago. I got a friend request From someone. I didn’t know female Angela city in the Philippines before I accepted her request. I noticed that she had three few mutual friends with me so I reached out to one of the guys that I’m gonna go see when I first arrive in the Philippines and he said oh yeah she’s all right. She’s just a lot of fun his words so I accepted the request within a moment or two I got a hello how are you? We chatted a little bit and it was all right. I mean it was mostly one word answers from her are very short answers like sure OK oh, I would really like that. That’s funny ha ha ha but no real information was forthcoming and then I proceeded to get a good morning. Text from her random texts throughout the day while I was at work, which is strange I work days which should be the middle of the night for her asking how I’m doing how’s work going And I always got a good night and we have chatted a few times but every time I’ve brought up the idea of a video chatting. She can’t do that. She’s never asked me for money not even for load for her phone. She won’t tell me what she does for a living. I did find out that she did not graduate college. She has seven siblings. She was raised by her grandparents and that she is the youngest one, but as far as getting any real information out of her or carrying on a real conversation with her, it’s kind of like pulling teeth. I’m confused that she like me or not. Does she want to get to know me or not? should I just run help?

Do you mean "Angeles City" not Angela city? Angeles City it the Pattaya City of the Philippines. Lots of bar girls, there's a good chance she could be a bar girl that's why you are hearing from her late at night her time. I would be very careful and I would keep your expectations extremely low.
