The amazing Eva Avila, with backing by the equally amazing Clare Torry. I combined the two voices not because Eva needed it, but because I wanted to see how close their voices were. Turns out, very. The small video is the 1994 screen film.

Saw Miss Torry sing this in November 1973 at the Rainbow Theater in London. Then saw Eva sing this in 2023 in Oregon and I will say there was no one in between who could hold their own to those two performances.

I was lucky enough to see & hear the real Clare Torry sing GGITS at Wembley Arena, November 1987, who did it perfectly, just like on the record. This woman!! wow!!! she's by far the closest I've heard to the real Clare Torry. The girl out of the Australian Pink Floyd was very close too, but this woman, Eva.. nailed it, almost... there! Excellent! She 'moved me.' Edit: forgot to add, it was during Roger Waters Radio KAOS tour, one of the best shows I went to. Am seeing Roger next week on his This Is Not A Drill tour at London O2.

The audio portion sounds like it is from a live concert, because of the reverb effect created by superimposing the two audio tracks on one another. Since you were able to synchronize them so precisely, it seems that Eva Avila has done an incredible job attempting to duplicate the original studio vocal. Now it remains for me to hear the unedited concert footage with only Eva singing, so I can appreciate her for herself. ·

I just stumbled upon this, and I first thought she was lip syncing. My deepest apologies. I have heard so many women singing, "The Great Gig in the Sky" and while they were awesome, none have come close to Clare Torry until I heard Ms. Avila. This young woman blew me away!
