Ah, Plastic Man, the most terrifying hero in DC comics. Completely indestructible, able to subconsciously control every atom of his body, impossible to predict, impossible to contain, able to get into anywhere, or in some cases, anyone, that he wants. Killed the Flash from the inside out, nearly killed Wonder Woman and Superman, defeated an intergalactic entity that could counter any opponent simply by being to dumb to have a counter. All held back only because he prefers being funny over being feared.

A comic of Plastic Man that quickly became one of my favorites after hearing about it on some other videos about him was when he was tracking a gang and they found out about it and had a meeting to figure out something to do. But the thing is that everything in the meeting room was red and yellow (Including several gang members clothes) so they got extremely paranoid and thought that Plastic Man was in the room. Then they turned on each other and made so much noise trying to break everything that the police were called and they were all caught. The twist at the end is that Plastic Man's alarm didn't go off so he slept in and missed his stakeout that day so they ruined themselves over nothing

@llmkursk8254 while I dont have much experience as a 3d animator I would think animating a character like plastic man is actually easier than animating something that has to remain rigid and unchanging through a movement like running. This might be why during the early days of animation rubberhose type characters were much more common. Even Disney required 3 years or so of training to realistically portray a human (just compare the animation "the goddess of spring" to snow white).

2:25 I like how Plas only cares when its Batman telling him he's outranked. After everything he's been through he kinda lives for Batsy's approval and I think he follow's the guy's example in a lot of ways. it's also probably why he's so care free, because he doesn't wanna end up a brooding inapproachable loner like Bruce.

The fact that Plastic Man is voiced by Master Shake in some of these is so perfect for his character.
@Hey-Its-Dingo2 жыл бұрын
Dana Snyder is a wonderful actor, and I love him to death in everything, but Tom Kenny is the best Plastic Man voice in anything Plas has been in. Part of it may simply come down to the way JLA writes Plas, but Tom Kenny feels more able to balance the comedy with the seriousness when needed, whereas Dana Snyder seems to be on the goofy side way too much way too often. (His actor in the Injustice animated movie, Oliver Hudson, has the balance in the right place, but I feel he just doesn't quite have the same charm that Kenny's performance has, but he's actually pretty close)
@Hey-Its-Dingo2 жыл бұрын
I have minimal exposure to Michael Bell as Plastic Man in the old DC cartoon stuff, or the small number of actors who have played him in other appearances, so I can't really comment on how they stack up to Kenny, Snyder, and Hudson. But, if you ask me my rankings of those 3, it's Tom Kenny in 1st, followed by Oliver Hudson, with Dana Snyder behind him.

I love that the internet is in love with plastic man now after all all time. I think one of the reasons is that he is doing good not because he feels like he should, like as I some sort of moral obligation, but because he likes it and has fun being good-despite his past. I think that's why Superman genuinely seems to not be bothered by him, and indulges him here in the photo, because-he doesn't take himself seriously and just is doing what he needs to do. He could be a TREMEMDOUS threat, but as the person he became-being evil just ain't in the cards for him now.

Ah, Plastic Man~ He was always my favorite partner for Batman to team up with in Brave and the Bold. Not only is he really funny and has a fun personality, but I think his backstory is incredibly interesting; as someone who was once an evil henchmen, now trying to redeem himself with his new powers, but struggling with his own greed even as he's trying to be a superhero and save the day. It's both funny to watch (mainly because of the comedic presentation of his greed), and also a really engaging flaw to overcome. The only thing I don't particularly like about him is his costume, because it kind of reminds me of an old timey bathingsuit for some reason. Other than that, he's definitely my favorite. ❤ I also think I prefer Tom Kenny's voice for him over Dana Snyder.
