No nerd rage here, I see the similarities. The Nuclear Family has been in DC comics since the 80s, albeit not often. This is actually their first appearance outside of comics, and it was good to see them.

They first appeared in the Outsiders comic back in the 80s. They really don't show up often in any comic now. This was their first media appearance outside of comics.

Why is a nuclear family called a nuclear family? I've always wondered that for so long.

Because parents act as the "nucleus" of the family. It was also just a popular buzz word at the time what with the advent of nuclear energy being discovered and manipulated.

the concept of a nuclear family was actually invented by real estate marketing executives to sell tract houses, which offered them the best cost-to-profit ratios. Around this time, it also became more popular to toss grandma and grandpa off at an old folks' home rather than accommodate them in the actual home.

They were originally from 'The Outsiders' comic book in the 80s but have not made very many appearances since then and Titans re-wrote them to the point they barley were the same group. A shame, I think the Nuclear Family has some great potential.
