The Great Range Traverse for the NEU8 | Adirondack Mountains

This was by far my favorite day hike ever. This is not an easy hike for beginners. Brittany and I have a lot of time in the mountains so before you attempt something like this definitely know your body and what you’re capable of! We needed Haystack, Basin and Saddleback mountain towards our ADK46er and with the Garden Parking Lot being closed this hike ending up turning into us Traversing the Great Range! We also knew of a newer hiking challenge that we wanted to undertake in the future called the NEU8 Challenege.. (North East Ultra 8) The Great Range Traverse was on that list! We started at Mount Marcy for sunrise, then over to Haystack, Basin Mountain, Saddleback Mountain, the cables rout up Gothics Mountain, then to Armstrong, Upper Wolfjaw, Lower Wolfjaw, Hedgehog and Roostercomb mountain before ending at the Roostercomb Parking lot! 24 miles and 10,000 feet of elevation Gain!
