I think there's about 15 bloody rings here, but it's only a few minutes into the battle, and we are seeing this pile of rings at just at this one crane platform. When they showed the wall from high above I was able to see at least 7 platforms total. So if you figure at least 15 dead crane soldiers per platform, that adds up to over 100. By any objective metric, the crane corps got their asses kicked. 😅

I think that the only way to make the Crane Corp works would be if they are used only when the monsters start to climb each other on other parts of the wall, to attract them to specific parts that have defenses like Oil or traps. That would also make their sacrifice meaningful, knowing that you are givong your life to bait the monsters into murder zones for the others to kill them

@Dodadeus wrong, watch the movie again. the crane corps were meant to either stop or delay the tao tei from climbing the wall, so whether they kill something or not doesnt matter, the tao tei must absolutely not reach the top of the wall. they werent used in the second battle because they cant see and the tao tei were already climbing the wall a long time before they realized.

What is the advantage in having highly trained soldiers bungie jump into a mosh pit of teeth to get maybe get a few kills? Why not just train those soldiers to use a bow instead? It is a huge waste of manpower to spent all the time training these soldiers, to have another group of soldiers working these ropes, and another group having to toss spears IF these others come up. It is the equivalent of spending years training a seal and then giving him some grenades to sky dive onto enemies. Even games have better strategy then that lol.
