Saw this movie today. It was great! 10/10 . Zac was great! It was never boring, I'm picky on movies , if its boring I play with my phone while watching. But this one I put my phone down to focus. 👍👍👍

I FINALLY GET TO BE THAT SNOB AND SAY "I READ THAT BOOK!" My wife bought me a copy for fathers day and it was an amazing book and a quick read. I'm a die hard Bill Murray fan so I will be first in line to see it.

Would never have guessed Bill Murray of all people to be cast for this role, nevertheless excel at it. But god damn, I truly believe if he wasn't in this film, it wouldn't be the same. That's not to say anything negative about the other actors, actually the opposite. Just goes to show how impactful casting can be for a movie, in both the positive and negative aspects. I love that this movie highlights the political divide at the time, but not in the sense of "hippie vs old school conservative" rather "hippie/liberal/youthful disposition vs people that support the troops". I know how that sounds, I'm not saying the hippies didn't support the troops either; from a philosophical perspective you could argue that they supported the troops the most (that's not me saying that, to be clear. Just saying you COULD make that argument). This movie takes it from a much more honest and nuanced perspective, and shows the realizations of the post-WW2 modern media society. That is to say, the first generation to see a war occurring as it truly was. Anyways, not sure I made my point (or any point) in that rant. Just wanted to say it's a great movie, and they should make more like it.

The trailers made this movie seem like an action comedy of sort but it's actually a drama. It's really depressing to watch but I think Zac Efron did a great job. I watched this expecting a lighthearted dumb movie but I kept watching because eventhough i don't like drama, I thought it was actually good.

This movie was really amazing. It isn't an action movie. Its a drama, with funny elements in it. For me, sure 11/10. Zac Efron made this so well and easy watchable, and showed amazing acting skills. His movie "Gold" wasnt good at all. But this one... Wow. From the first minute on, till the last one... He did an amazing job. On board also Russel Crowe and Bill Murray. I cant compare it to any other movie, but if i must, i would say hackshaw ridge 2%.

The real story is worth looking into. The guy was a Marine, not a lazy idiot, BEFORE the beer run. In transit he had drunk all the beers he brought and had to buy more before he got there! Yet again Hollywood messes up a story but in this case replaced it with some good fun entertainment.
