I'm only 13 and I even know how black holes work. Two singularities colliding into each other builds up only more mass. Black holes are a 'matter' of energy and radiation, taking the space between atoms and squashing it down smaller. Time would go normally if you were to jump in one, but to others the view would be a still, red and frozen embodiment of what was 'you' if you count the reflection of light as 'you'. The atoms get squashed into the suction of energy, and due to the fact that 80% of our bodies are made up of water, we would die within minutes. The theory of spaghettigication shows that our body would rip apart as we get spun around, like a univursal washing machine, and we may even gain our own orbit around the giant tear in space sucking up anything in the universe for itself that we call a black hole. i dont think people understand how black holes work. If you smash together two particles into a singularity, the resulting black hole will still only have the gravity of those two particles. Not nearly enough to even risk destroyin anything.

DictatorPutzki i hope it was a joke. lets say he flipped the witch 100 times cause im lazy. Thats around maybe 1000 particles with lets say 50 that became Higgs Bosons (WAY overestimating here.) In order to create a black hole with an event horizon the size of a marble, you would need the mass of the earth, or 5.98x10^27 grams. At this point i got too lazy to continue because the point had already been beaten t death.

Hmmm. The energy required to make the smallest possible black hole is roughly 18-followed by 18 zeros GeV. That is 18,000,000,000,000,000,000 GeV The LHC is capable of reaching a massive 13,000 GeV I don't think I'll worry about it. (It was actually built to see if we could find the Higgs Boson - which we did Yay!)

Dude, this actually happened. They created a 17- mile tunnel under switzerland, and everyone was scared it would create a black hole and kill us all. After a lot of suspense, nothing happened. Funnily enough, most scientists across the globe were disappointed. And robloxianjet26, string theory is a real thing aswell!

While it's true that black holes are stationary, they do have the potential, over a very long period of time, to gain enough mass, to hold itself in place, as the Earth rotates into it, cutting a full line across its surface, thus giving an extra milimeter ever few years, to core out a progressively larger gouge in the Earth's curst, until it Shapes the Earth into a Hourglass Shaped, worn away Apple core. But the Hadron Collider can't make a blackhole larger that a molecule or so... so it's the Hadron Collider in this video that wouldn't work.... like that. "I HATE College.... anyone who thinks that the LHC could possibly create a "doomsday scenario" as put in the cartoon is a dope who has been suckered in by the medias attempt to create a story from useually un-noticed scientific endeavors the only reason a story exists around this expierment is because of its scale and its impact on the current theory of physics I.E the standard model aswell as string theory and M-theory. the LHC is incapeable of createing a black hole to the same extent that a rock can create music
