My Black Crazy Ants (the "Dark Knights"), one of the best ant colonies I've ever owned and OGs of this channel, need a new home. I had an epic plan for their new housing, which will involved the installment of various plants, other creatures, and bioactive soils. We also add a new team of aquatic creatures into the waters of Skull Island, home of our new ghost ant colony, and notice something odd about our Surinam horned frog, before attempting to feed it a baby mouse.

1.Name the frog Hornelius 2. The name of the Dark Knights vivarium should be named Castillo de Madera 3. Definitely Beta Fighting fish for Skull Island water beast! 4. And for the answer to the AC question of the week the reason we need to cycle the tank before adding the great water beast is because they will create waste which creates ammonia which is toxic to animals. A properly cycled tank turns the toxic ammonia and nitrites to nitrates which is less toxic and can be removed from the water! I’m obsessed I love your show!!

while i prey it never happens, i like to wonder how the antroom would develop should some disaster happen to it or Mikey, causing him to be unable to tend to it anymore. i'm picturing toppled-over and broken vivariums adapting and spreading beyond their initial containment, several different ant species fighting for dominance, some enclosures remaining locked off for longer then others and developing their own unique ecosystems, and just the room as a whole turning into a miniature biosphere. i imagine a source of water would need to be introduced for all that though. As i'm pretty sure all the water in the antroom is brought in by the creator of worlds :P

@@AntsCanada I love your channel, and I had been here since the beginning, but I must say that I think it is better to give us one story at the time, other than trying to give us as much information as possible. You are an amazing storyteller and it is a shame to rush from one story to another all in one video instead of taking your time to build up the tension, excitement, and anticipation. It's better to take your time with stories and tell them one at the time, even if the video ends up being shorter. Quality over quantity.

@king Thormak, it doesn’t feel rushed to me and this format allows us to vote and get input to him more efficiently. This was a great episode and example of that. The main focus of the video still had the great story telling and a good pace. As for the shorter stories, the anticipation and build up felt enhanced the way he broke them up between the main plot. I prefer that instead of a 5 min video update. I love his channel too 😁 it’s like how nature shows used be. Yet better because we’re all apart of the AC fam! 😁🐜❤️4ever

Aquarium pro here. Plants will also eat up Nitrates. Adding lots of aquatic plants will keep water clean and do less water changes. I would also recommend an African Butterfly Fish (Pantodon buchholzi) to that tank. It would eat bugs on the surface (like spiders and escape ants) and they look really cool!

Agree there are a few too many cliffhanger moments but creators need to experiment and keep things fresh. If every episode was exactly the same as the next it would get stale so trying new things is a must. Sometimes they will be improvements, sometimes not and even then depending who you ask (can't please all of the people all of the time kind of thing). I enjoyed it for all the elements that made it enjoyable even if all weren't to my personal taste and will definately be looking forward to future episodes. 👍

You have to add the water beasts after the tank is cycled because there would be too many dangerous compounds like ammonia and nitrite. Eventually the bacteria eat these compounds enough to support water beasts.

I actually used to own a WHITE betta fish. Well, nearly white- he was very VERY pale pearly color with a touch of light pink on his tail. While a bright-colored betta would make an interesting contrast, a spooky water-ghost floating below the surface might look really cool. Mine was a delta-tail and he always looked like he was wearing a long flowing white dress, not unlike the depictions of many ghosts. See what colors are available! Maybe a spooky pale blue would be good!

Wow, first time watching your channel and I enjoyed every second of it, it was interesting to see multiple things going on and your creations are incredible 👍 P.s the fish is beautiful but that frog would blend in with the surroundings so well, I think the frog would look more natural but the fish might add a bit of an interest point, I think I'd go with the frog as it seems more fitting but either would be a great addition .

You have to cycle the tank, because special bacteria turn ammonia , which is poisonous into nitrites , which is actually also poisonous after that other bacteria turn nitrates into nitrites which is not that poisonous. that is how the animal can live in the Tank.

Considering the vast majority of Betta fish are quite small, and those spiderlings seem to be fairly large, the fish wouldn't be ideal unless it dismembered the spiderling, which I'm not sure if they can do or not. Most of the time I see them eating really small things like little pellets or teeny baby shrimps. So as much as the rest of us seem to want the fish, the frog feels more practical. Also the new Dark Night enclosure is really cool. I might try to copy that in the future if I ever decide to get a lizard or something. Really like the driftwood and the big space under it.
