173 Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter games and they let Def Jam fade into obscurity. This game could have seriously been Hip Hop's version of Smash Bros. The Blazin moves were INSANE!

I can honestly say I bought this game 10 times since 2004 and beaten it at least 100 times. The replay value is over 9000. The greatest fighting game ever is definitely this one. From the music, fighters and the story, this was a groundbreaking game in 2004.

This is legitimately my all time favorite video game of all time. So much replayability and it’s held up very well for a game that came out in 2004. Great video!
@calamorta
@calamorta 2 жыл бұрын
"it held up very well" is a huge understatement. Literally one of the only PS2 games you can play without feeling it got dated... Visuals look good regardless of your hardware and gameplay is smooth. Timeless masterpiece. It makes me so mad how they managed to kill the franchise with that X360/PS3 sequel lmao that game is disrespectful af. I wish a big youtuber could expose it. It's one of the worst sequels ever.

Truly one of the greatest games of all time and the best non-WWE wrestling game ever made! Its a massive improvement over the original! Everything is absolutely perfect! An alpha prototype was found in March this year and this game was originally going to be WAY BIGGER! Sean Paul, DMX, Tupac, Notorious BIG and many more artists were going to have their music in the game but were cut! DMX, Kurupt and S-Word were going to be playable but were cut late in development due to licensing issues! Carmen Electra and Ice T LOVED working on the game and would like to see the Def Jam series come back! According to the executive producer, the games were great fun but they were an absolute nightmare to make and they were life draining.

Imo this is the best wrestling game* ever even if we consider WWE games... but what are the best WWE games for you? I've played some Smackdown vs Raw and 2K titles and I would rather get Def Jam FFNY. *But I also think it's unfair to put Def Jam as a wrestling game because you can easily play it and have fun without using wrestling moves at all. I think it's more like a proper fighting game than wrestling game. Vendetta was a pure wrestling game, tho.

Speaking of the Styles, I will never forget how I nearly tanked my first playthrough -- I went Martial Artist, a solid start, into Submission, which added a lot of versatility I needed... then *_Street Brawler,_* which ruined almost all of the combos I'd gotten used to and replaced the snappy Shining Wizard-esque finisher with a super slow, hard-to-set-up Spinning Haymaker finisher. Never made that mistake again.

Truly an amazing game. This is an absolute must play. Story, gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, replayability, customization. ALL there. I am the type of gamer who is very laid back. Even with action and fighting games. This game; however, had such an engrossing story it put me on edge match after match. I cannot count how many times I would jump in excitement in victory, taunt the computer opponent during a blazing move, or how many times I would be shouting profanities in defeat. I am also the type who does not play too many games over after defeating them. This one I don't mind picking up to this day and playing it all the way through. I got this game the day it came out. My three year old son soon learned words he should not be hearing at that age. Not from the game but from me LOL. I didnt know he was picking it up till one day in defeat he points at the T.V. and say "you son of a bitch!" before I could. Today he turned 21.
