The reality is a short range, lengthy times to fill up, more expense to buy, cost similar to fill up at home as an ICE car, way more to fill up from a public charger and appalling towing range. For me an EV won't work but I appreciate people looking for a local runaround may find a small benefit. Four hours cheap charge on a 7.5KW charger is going to give only a really small range though.

That’s a coincidence. I told my wife when we first met, that I was ‘elite premium spec’. I think she had other ideas…I can’t remember. Regarding squeezing in the car’s charge within 4hrs cheap rate, just set the car to your chosen maximum charge, to get you through the day. It’ll either reach it or not on the cheap rate. For more control, (using the Tesla as you mentioned), set the ‘off peak’ end of charge time (in ‘departure’, say 04.00) and ‘start charging’ at 00.00, and you’ll have four hours worth at cheap rate.

No point complaining about the size, its a small car just over I think 4.1 metres in length. I think pretty good as a town car with the range and maybe ok for a couple of bigger trips in a year, I'd struggle with it as a main family car though. We had a look at this on motability for my wife - for some odd reason the sill was a bit wide and wasn't easy to get in for her, we settled for a Kona which is still on order and hopefully due this year! I ordered vauxhall mokka e, in blue back on the 10th Feb, 8 months ago and have been informed its still 3 - 6 months before it will be delivered. I am trying to transition, but I honestly wish I bought an ice car because this is just stupid. Nothing's free mate, it'll be included within the contract, BP doesn't hover anything for free! Cars very similar to Peugeot..
@MrEV2 жыл бұрын
Yes, free is perhaps the wrong word! “Included” would have been better. Still, with charging costs as they are, it represents good value. And yes, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Citroen and DS all use the same platform so there’s a lot of shared DNA.

How ridiculous that it has a charge start time but not a stop time! The inside looks a bit "Vauxhall". i.e. a bit cheap looking.

None. It’s a shared ICE/EV platform so not much in the way of internal space.

Pulse/Instavolt/Shell charger cards ? Hmmmm…. I can charge my Tesla at a supercharger without a card / wallet or phone…
@MrEV2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but if there's no Supercharger anywhere close - and the nearest to me is 45 minutes away - it's nice to know there's free charging at Pulse/Instavolt/Shell!

OMG I wouldn't want this for more than a month. A few hours would be bad enough. How could they even think of putting this on the market? !! 😖

Picks one of the worst, ugliest cars to replace a beautiful, hi tech Ioniq 5, crazy. Guess he hasn't heard of MG4. Lucky he can give it back.
@slavko3212 жыл бұрын
it's not that bad? green is nice? But yeah MG4 no contest.
@Irishgamer012 жыл бұрын
@@slavko321 Yeah itis a "THAT". Its battery range is a joke. As is styling, but the colour is cool as you said but you have to live with the dam thing and I commute 120 km daily. Its a city car and there are far better cars out there and coming up soon.
@MrEV2 жыл бұрын
I’d have kept the IONIQ 5 if we could afford it. Onto don’t offer the MG4 yet but it seems like a great deal.

Simply, it’s a really bad car.
@whynotstartusingyourbrain87262 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I had a test drive scheduled for an hour. After twenty minutes I was back at the dealer. It drives like an ice car nith really bad suspension. Shaking in curves and having a lackluster acceleration. All the typical fun of an ev is completely absent here.
@lukamih2 жыл бұрын
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 completely agree, it drives really badly, built and designed badly and the usability is even worse. I can’t believe that car was approved.
@whynotstartusingyourbrain87262 жыл бұрын
@@lukamih it's in the race for worst ev. However they are lucky that the Mazda MX 30 exists. If that wasn't the case they would win easily.

Engine and motor are used synonymously. There are some good article out there by engineering schools. Pointless zu get hung up on that. You might end up manifesting the same mental fences that annoy us so much about admirers of fossil propulsion...

Seems clear to me you hate every aspect of the thing ... except maybe the colour. Personally I don't even like that. Wow on the tiny interior and cheap cheap plastic everywhere. Also no storage. Rubbish, I think is the sentiment you were searching for. Oh well, you only have to live with it for a month ... Good luck with the next one.
