@@peterhardie4151 well, the thing is that you play as an AI army so it’s not really that bad, especially when you can actually inflict significant losses or even win as an AI army, which is a complete game changer as opposed to beating the autistic child that the AI is.

I think at least part of the reason is fatigue, the AI has a harder time controlling its army once it is fatigued, and in general has trouble manoeuvring due to the pretty high speed penalties caused by it. After 5 minutes of making their troops sprint around non-stop while In Combat status from being bombarded by spells will get them to 50% fatigue at least.

@@bogdanleshenko7149 Not really, collisions are reduced a lot in these later games and combat animations have a lot more forward movement as part of their attacks leading to this kind of thing (and they weren't any flying units in a plane above the field battle to confuse the AI's attack orders). The earlier games weren't this bad in regards to balling up and massed army balls were almost exclusively a product of the AI trying to charge through the guarded gate that the battering ram just opened up or charging across a bridge in a bridge field battle in earlier games.

In my current campaign Grimgor was dead , gone Finito by Turn 12 😲,Knights of Clador still exist by turn 50 as do every Dwarf Faction. I have never seen that in 1000hrs of game play. Just shows how unpredictable and variable every campaign can be in TW2

Just started Imrik campaign, rushed Snicktch down, Grimgor was next. Taking Black Crag early really cripples him. I haf a campaign where Ai Reikland was nuked by Rakarth and World Walkers by turn 25 :D

It makes sense to a degree for the 5 minute thing. Abandoning your position and beelining at newly revealed troops would be easy to cheese just hide a single unit at various places in the map and make them run and run till their fatigue is toast.

This makes them from Fresh to Exhausted too. Their armor penalties and Ward saves drop so much the archers will have no problem killing them all.

hey i know i am a bit late to the party but this is actually my campaign hahahaha. actually at one point i lost all my settlements because grimgor decide to be grimgor while i was dealing with eshin and yvresse had a wary diplomatic trait and declared war on eatine which i was allied with and won taking all his my province in ulthuan but i was lucky enough to get tyrion when they were at the lowest of their low. i decided to Bee line straight to bonerattlaz’s province with a usual stack of archers, 2 spearmen, 3 lvl 15+ nobles and the fire mage. i had 30k gold on reserve so i didn’t suffer attrition since the upkeep only brought about a -1000+ per turn. on the way there i also sacked a ton of tier 3 settlements from grimgor which gave me 3-5k each. i went to the mountainside where lahmia sisterhood was since it was safe and i hadn’t negotiated a military access with the dwarves which were down to their last province of mount gunbad. when i arrived at bonerattlaz’s province i caught them lacking with barely any army guarding their capital and i took it which insantly gave me a ton of upkeep reserves since there was a gold mine there. i then went for the minor settlement and wiped them out. i decided to take ungrims capital since grimgor owned it. after that sylvania was down horrendous and i decided to take their capital as well because GOLD, i also allied with karaz a karak around this time. i made a truce with eltharion later on and managed to get a military alliance with him note that avelorn was wiped by him as well. i got eyes on nagarythe and confederated him around turn 100+. it was a really weird campaign but i just went with it. a military ally of karaz a karak decided to declare war on me 10 turns after this part of the video when i was at medium reliability and those stunties sided with them. most of my settlements were mountainous. i owned the entirety of the mountainside, bonerattlaz and ungrims province. their underway stance made me realize i had no chance and i just gave up. am currently doing a nagarythe campaign to spite the stunties and i am planning on painting the map.

Why every unit in the army had fire damage and wouldn't that simply mean that archers would ignore the armor of the black orcs? As far as I understand, archers with fire damage simply becomes sisters of avelorn with low melee stats. Am I missing something?

Armour works on anything not magical, so flaming and normal. So Armour still applies. These archers would be very good against, say, Vampire Counts, to deal with their regen (and low armour in general).

Yes. Fire damage only matters when dealing with fire resistance / weakness. If resistance is zero fire damage is treated as regular physical. Since it sounds like you think armor only applies to physical, you should also know that it applies to spells as well. This is why Legend mentioned that Burning Head wouldn't do much to the Black Orks.

Fire is an independent modifier to physical or magic. You can have both physical fire and magical fire. By default, fire is actually pretty pointless, unless you know you're going up against treemen, Tomb Kings, or regeneration. Iirc, it lowers the regen cap of units hit more than normal damage, too, so even against things that don't have regeneration themselves, it can still be occasionally handy. It can often turn into a liability, since little bits of fire resistance aren't uncommon either. If memory serves, all forms of damage (besides AP damage, of course) still interact with Armor. Spells, physical, magical, and fire alike all get armor checked. Magical damage in TWW2 is somewhat equally niche. It can be resisted, and by default doesn't really "do" anything. It wrecks Ethereal units, but that's more because Ethereal units have tiny HP pools backed by tons of physical resistance. Essentially, all attacks or spells are either Physical or Magical, and hit those resistances. Some attacks can be Fire or Missile, which add their own resistance/weakness. Finally. Ward Save effects all damage. No combination of Save can add up to more than, iirc, 80%. If a unit's Save ends up higher, it just stops at 80. Armor can still reduce it further, but any attack that lands will always deal 1hp at minimum. Essentially, all attacks, whether listed or not, have at least 1 AP damage. Hence why Skavenslave slingers are such good checks to SEMs, since they still take a ton of damage from a full volley of rocks, even if each rock deals only 1 damage. I forget if saves or armor are applied first. Magic attacks got a huge buff in TWW3, as Magic Resistance was changed to Spell Resistance, and no longer blocks Magic attacks, only spells. Ward Save still resists Magic, but it makes the damage type overall significantly more reliable than any other type. Especially since Daemon units have that 20% physical resistance, but even after everyone else gets added. Dwarves in shambles, Sisters of Avelorn reign supreme, and Ethereal units probably just stay home.

He said that because there's a lot of AP damage, but in this sort of situation, when archers have almost no armour piercing, it can be really critical as he mentioned at the beginning. He has similar disaster battle saving Reikland army full of archers against WoC, where he had to shoot them at the rear in order to cause some damage and not completely waste their ammo

Most people aren't playing Warhammer 3. It's not just me. We'll come back to it when Immortal Empires drops but I don't see any reason to touch the Realm of Chaos campaign again. It's a big stinking failure.

TW3 adds cool factions, a good map, and the 8p campaign co-op is AMAZING, but the Chaos Realms kinda suck. They suck to the point that their design is the opposite of what TW wants you to do (fight, conquer, expand). The Immortal Empires beta map CA just shared looks awesome, can't wait to try it out and that's probably when TW3 will "activate" for more people

He's not going to, there's no benefit in it for him. I love taurox but it's one of, if not the easiest campaigns in the game. A campaign that goes for multiple days gets the most views, not a campaign you can beat in a couple hours..

So in that sense Taurox wouldn't be a bad choice, but yeah, it's piss-easy so it wouldn't be interesting, i don't think

What battle tactics? Charging them head on with all units? What legends is doing is pretty smart. There are not many "different tactics" you can use in this type of situations anyways.

Most of the time there is no interesting tactics to be had. Anything other that what I'm doing will see his army destroyed. I get that might be what you want to see but that's not what's been asked of me. These are not my campaigns. People want me to bail them out of these situations and show them how they can do it themselves in future. Play on normal difficulty if that's what makes you happy but to some people that's not very interesting.
