I'm glad you mentioned the (rather short) life span of wind turbines. In my view, most of the ordinary people who support these things are totally unaware of this crucial aspect, because you hear them going on all the time about how wind is "free". But if after 11 or 12 ridiculously short years the whole process of mining, smelting, construction, transportation and building has to be repeated at huge cost, then the idea that these are "renewables" is proven to be a total fallacy.

I live in the Northern Highlands. We already have a very large wind farm to the North East of the village and are now waiting for 8 new wind farms in planning . If they get passed the whole area will be surrounded by turbines, the highest onshore turbines so far erected in the UK at 200 m high or 750 ft. Many of us Will loose our property and land . It's terrible. If they had to plonk these awful monstrosities in such a beautiful area , why not plonk them in a more remote place instead of destroying such a lovely community. For us in the Village of Rosehall, it's the Highland Clearances all over again ! Incidentally, they are calling it a "Green Energy Park " !

As I said before there is 8 energy companies now trying to surround the village. The EMF from these turbines will make the area totally uninhabitable. We're in the hands of the Highland Council . It's very worrying as we don't know our future !

We don't ever seen to hear about engineering entrepreneurs? All about AI. Yet we need some practical solution to what we can run through our boilers, if we are not using gas. Stopping everything before we have the solutions does not seem to be a smart, efficient or economic benefit to anyone in the UK. Things should run in parallel surely to change over, knowing that fuel is effecient. This is a terrible government, taking all their cues from WEF.

Prescient talk this morning Godfrey. It so happens that right now, renewables provide merely 8% of UK electrical demand. Fossil fuels provide the lion's share at 51% and we are importing 15% at £80 per Mega Watt. Essentially, were it not for natural gas, the lights would now be off and the grid would be in a major blackout. It doesn't matter how many windmills you build, they don't work when the wind doesn't blow. This net zero palaver is destined to cripple the UK beyond measure.

I saw some interesting stuff about the costs being massively underestimated for maintaining them and the output being massively over estimated.. I think figures were from 2012 .

Every single turbine has thousands of tonnes of ‘green’ concrete in its base. Every turbine/wind farm has to have an absolute fortune spent on it in vibration monitoring alone because the damned things shake themselves to bits. At end of life all of that ‘green’ concrete is broken up and dumped in landfill. I use ‘green’ in quotes because it isn’t, thousands of tonnes of CO2 (ooh, CO2), are dumped into the atmosphere.

As with everything Godder's the question that should ALWAYS be asked is..... Who benefits £££?. I'd also wager much of the £11.6 BILLION given to other countries to "fight climate change" in 5he countries receiving the money people such as BLiar, John Kerry etc etc etc. have organisations registered in those countries as Climate Consultancies etc.... and these are the organisations, companies who'll be syphoning off much of the money.... Money laundering on a global scale

In Sweden we have 5300 wind turbines, Here an independent investigation has been carried out where the result is that No Company makes a profit and this despite all the government billions in subsidies, Now there is a threat of major power outages due to the fact that Wind power's electricity is not continuous + decommissioned Nuclear power's effect has the systems are very weak, What they often forget is that you must always have strong Basic power from nuclear power, water, oil, gas, coal, to be able to drive the electricity from Wind power!

24% RENEWABLES TAX upon our power bills to SUBSIDISE THEM: Even when they are not turning and Solar panels are in the dark and THEN you pay 5% VAT on top. You also pay a daily fee for each of gas and electricity which is now being used as a continuous profit maker rising steadily in line with power providers bonuses.

They are one of the reasons why electricity in this country is twice as expensive as in the USA. And FIVE times more than in China. They are a money making racket; and a device of money transfer from the poorest, to the richest; which is a WEF ideal. Please see article in issue 48; September 2024 of the Light Paper, alternative newspaper; page 7.

I think everbody has been saying octopus energy is cheaper 🤔 I wonder if the price something to do with this? Not wind being cheaper I mean but desigjed to be attractive to increase customers so they can grow the scam.

In my south midlands area we have had several days with no wind enough to turn the damn things so at night there is no renewables output at all.

We all want cleaner air but we have been set these net zero targets no one knows how much it will cost, no one knows if its achievable or even worthwhile. We are putting most of our eggs in the wind & solar basket which are unreliable & we have shutdown most of our fossil fuel production when green energy is years away from coping on its own. If you moving house you do not pull down your old house until your new house is ready.
