Love it. People hating in the comments don’t get that this is an emulation of a pre-blackface fender amp pushed past its limits, and it sounds exactly like it’s supposed to. Stick to your tubescreamers; a lot of us DO like these sounds.

I have this pedal and I personally like it for tone shaping/preamp application. This pedal opens up the overall tone with good warmth. Like many people here I do not like the fuzz sounds this pedal produces but this pedal sounds amazing for clean and light crunch sounds

Just curious. You have the Soma at the end of your chain, in front of amp or at the end of drive section? If so, how does this pedal take ovrerdrive or boosts? Does it get muddy?

Best demo of this pedal I've seen. I'm bought and sold. Excellent demo. Just wondering would Squier jazzmaster single coil pick ups be to hot for this pedal unlike tele pick ups? 🤔

I want one, awesome drive/fuzzy tone. Semi hollow + p90s and this pedal could be pretty much heaven

I like it. I can't recall hearing your tele sound quite that dirty before.

Can you tell Pete has a favorite shirt? Western cut with pearl snaps, just like the ones I used to wear growing up in Texas.

Are you using 9 or 18 V?

Surely this pedal is a nod to the Smashing Pumpkins who all famously used a Big Muff for their fuzz sound. Soma is a great tune full of fuzzy good licks... kept waiting for you to play some tasty Pumpkins riffs.
i would love if you could do a slow dancing in a burning room loop video, tak på forhånd. fede videoer;D

Overdriven transformer
@cchavez2484 жыл бұрын
I have to admit, I'm not really a fan of the spitty, overdriven transformer. Has anyone here tried a Crazy Tube Ckts. Falcon against this Greer Soma? In most videos I've seen, I like the Falcon better but I don't have any, "in the room" experience with either of these pedals, thx.

I love the lightspeed I plan on buying one but I don't like this pedal
@CNCTEMATIC5 жыл бұрын
Lightspeed is awesome, can't get it off my board. Southland is also good. This is not impressive at all. For that overdriven mike preamp sound the Hudson Broadcast or the JHS Crayon are way better. To me the fuzz tones on this are thin and scratchy. Also this pedal couldn't do the halfway overdriven thing, or even as a clean fattener it was unpleasant. Can't do anything a preamp should, imo
@robertwellington26165 жыл бұрын
CNCTEMATIC I have the Southland and the Samson both good pedals. Not a fan of the lightspeed. Tried it 3x it didn’t make a great amp sound better so it had to go. I’m not a fan of this either. Sorry but I need to be honest. The 2 other pedals I mentioned are great though. Everyone has different taste.

Jeez Pete the pedals reviews are just getting too much. 22 of your last 25 videos are paid commercials by pedal companies. It would be great if you could find a balance between advertising and producing other videos for your many fans and subscribers.

I think this is their worst pedal. Sounds terrible!
@CentaurusRelax3145 жыл бұрын
Damn. I hate criticizing free demos, but something sounds 'broken.' I can't imagine anyone, *ever,* saying, *"OMFG-i, like, **_totes_** need that tone."*
@marcuskruse15 жыл бұрын
Sounds terrible because it's based on a cranked brown face fender. It's power tube distortion, not pre amp which we have become used to.
@Mathcartney5 жыл бұрын
Marcus Kruse actually its the other way around. Plexi, bassman, hiwatts are all power saturation. Neil young uses this tone in like all of his albums and he’s pretty much good with it
@marcuskruse15 жыл бұрын
@@Mathcartney not sure I follow, if you turn up the volume, the power amp will overdrive, along with the pre, but with no master volume, you can't drive the pre harder than the power.

Finally that collapsed sphincter farting sound I never wanted. Why sound pro when you can sound prolapse? For no extra money, bring it down to 9volts and shove a swarm of angry bees up in there...

Sounds way too buzzy and trebly .yechhj
@cchavez2485 жыл бұрын
That is only when overdriving the internal transformer. I can't say I'm a fan of that sound either. I much prefer the Ariel Posen broadcast if one were to go for that fuzzy style overdrive!
