Marinating doesn't work. You can just brush the "marinade" on, use it immediately and it makes no difference to the taste. I mean, scientifically it doesn't work. But you won't believe me, which is cool. Personally I think the taste of Greek yogurt would be great on the marinade, by which I mean the sauce you dress your chicken with. I wonder how these kitchen myths started. I'm guessing that the marinating myth began as an excuse for why dinner wasn't ready yet.

I've made this 3-4 times, with the naan and tzatziki. Even broiled and not grilled, it's still incredible! Grilled on some hot charcoals is the best, though. This last time I ran out of yogurt to make the sauce. I ended up throwing together mashed avocado, heavy cream, and a little mayo together in place of the yogurt/mayo. Also added a little sugar bc I put too much lemon juice in it, and used one clove of garlic instead of two bc it was a little garlic heavy last time. Turned out really pretty good!

OMG! This is our favorite dinner too! Can't stop making this either. Thanks so much Sam for the newest chicken dish in our weekly routine. Truth be told we don't make the Naan......yet - this also makes one heck of a chicken bowl!

A Canadian, who's Jewish, from a predominately French Canadian city and province, living in the US, trying to do a Greek accent, and speak Greek. LOL. Love your channel!

@@mrzee4862 I thought he was from Montreal. I stand corrected. Being from Vancouver I wonder if he wears Birks. They all wear Birkenstocks in Van.

Made this chicken for dinner tonight with yogurt flat bread and grilled peppers & onions. Outstanding! This marinade is a definite Keeper! So glad I made a double batch so there’d be leftovers. 😊

Honestly I’ve never made a dinner off of this channel that I didn’t love but this was although a little time consuming the best dinner me or my wife have ever made. Definitely on the list of regular dinners after tonight

Sam this is also called a Shawarma in the Middle East. The cuisine in the Mediterranean and the Levant is similar.
