I literally have no idea how people hate this movie, Jim’s performance completely carries it.
@johnmartin41192 жыл бұрын
A lot of it relies on the performance and if you don’t get into it’s gonna be hard to like it(especially if you’re not a fan of Jim Carry’s style or this type of comedy). Plus while the elements of the Grinch and I’d argue Cindy are very well done, the film did have a lot of extra elements that seem somewhat unnecessary or mediocre in comparison like the bits with the one note bully mayor, the pretty generic backstory, and The forgettable love interest. I still really enjoy this film but again it’s mostly for the two stand out performances for the Grinch and Cindy(plus a minor shoutout to Cindy’s dad Lou)
@WhateverArtist2 жыл бұрын
Short answer: The movie ruined people's childhood. Longer answer: As good as Jim's performance was, I don't think most people cared for a more cynical and ranchy version of a beloved, childhood classic.
@andrewrivera1902 жыл бұрын
That’s what I gathered. In the one hand it is a insult to what Doctor Seuss created. On the other hand as an adult I now relate to the Jim’s cynical portrayal.

You know what's ironic and ICONIC?? The fact that Grinch is supposed to be mean and heartless (As his heart is three times too small and does everything he can to make it even smaller), yet in his schedule, he has plans to SOLVE world hunger and wants to tell NO ONE. One, because he doesn't want to be seen as a good person. But also notice that means he wouldn't get any credit or love or recognition from it. He genuinely plans this and wishes to tell NO ONE.
