Full Transparency Here: I poured my heart out on this edit! I didn't want to let the SUBS down that came on this trip. Sure the hunt part sucked, but I wanted them to have a film to preserve the memory of the experience. The camaraderie was REAL and I felt there were some golden moments captured! Thanks for supporting this channel and if you're willing to like and share this film it would be awesome! -Dan

We’ll done Dan, thanks for taking the time to make memories for us. Also, I had a blast hanging with you, your dad and Tyler. Thanks man.

You did great, Dan! This is something I'll get to show my son one day. That means a lot... I may not have seen a bear. But I met some terrific human beings, and learned so much from everyone. With everyone grinding, hoping for each other, and sharing knowledge... Not since the military have I felt that kind of brotherhood. Iron sharpens iron. Til next time! 🤙🤙🤙

Great video Dan. It’s good to remind us that not every hunt goes as planned. And sometimes we have to roll with the punches and adapt to what life throws our way.

'berta boy here. love the content. and love that your bringing attention to the grizz issue in ab. the population hasnt been studied ( as far as i can know) since 2006 when a moratorium was placed on griz hunting. the population was 1200 in the mountain region and i dont think the Borial forest was looked at in depth during that study. iIthink the population desperately needs to be re counted and some tags issued. Ive had 2 of my fav hunting honey holes ruined by big ol boar grizz. glad you enjoyed some of alberta's fine forests!!!!

Wow! This is the best vid you guys have put out in awhile. The fletching jig was cool. I’ll stay with Bitz but I like having options. That Dan McCarthy system is fire. I had no idea about these and I’m definitely buying those.

Learned something today! That fletching jig is sweet so is the timing system!
@Jase-E Жыл бұрын
Just a heads up, the "in-time" system mentioned in the video, can be easily replicated by using D-loop material. Cut and burn a section so that you're left with 1/16" to 1/8" between the burned ends. It'll sit nicely in your cables. Find the perfect tune spot and tie it in place. No need for the extra purchase. Keep it simple. Same concept as the Bomar Peep Tuner.

I have the goat fletching jig. It works ok but they don't last all that long. I find that the bitz is a good all around jig.

Tough situation but I like how you kept this pretty positive. I head out for my spring bear hunt next week here in Maine. Hopefully I have a lot less hurdles but no grizzly here so that’s a plus.

I was born in Homer but we moved to Montana when I was still a baby. 24 years later and I’ve still never been back. It’s an odd feeling, having such a deep connection to a place I don’t remember. I feel that if I go I may never come back.

Grizzly bear hunting in Canada needs to change but unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’s heading in that direction. I truly believe that grizzly bears and wolves need to be hunted so the numbers don’t get out of control.

Ok July 1st and 2nd is our 100 3d target shoot at capital city bowman in olympia. Camping is available and there are hotels and motels about 10-15 away. If you are interested in going send me a message and I'll give more info about it.

I know in comparison to a grizzly black bear doesn’t seem as scary but they can mess you up bad and a sow with cubs will come at you.. this past week i killed a huge black bear with a 18 13/16 skull and and when i got to him I was thinking wow this could go bad

Thermacell is essential in the woods early season. For fishing, hunting, shooting, camping... anything. I shoot a ton of 3D tournaments and you bet your bottom dollar there is a thermacell on my belt or in my pack! Also regarding the grizzles and sidearms.... I agree with you completely... its a shame that the Canadian government thinks its too dangerous to allow hunters to carry a sidearm for defence. Our firearms legislation is as retarded as it gets, and with our radical liberal government its reached peak levels of lunacy. Shotguns are legal to carry, but when fly fishing and doing other outdoor sports its not always practical to have a shotgun strapped on your back... Its a real shame that our politicians think licensed gun owners are the ones to crack down on. This country is slipping down a dangerous path these days ever since justin trudeau got in power... Legal pot and gelled hair was all it took for him to slip his tentacles into this once awesome country. Anyways, Love the channel, great videos and content!
