Is this the best LEGO Ideas project of all time?!
Sewer Heroes: Fighting the Fatberg depicts sanitation workers attempting to clear sewage pipes underneath a busy - and presumably very greasy - burger restaurant.
According to designer MOCingbird, the project’s goal is to raise awareness of the very real problem of sewer fatbergs, the moral being: don’t flush wipes down the loo; don’t pour cooking fat down the drain.
It’s an absolutely disgusting set, but 10,000 people have supported it, so who knows? Maybe The LEGO Group will see the environmental benefits of this particular design.
Plus, it’s a actually a really cool build all around!

I like it I like how it gets people thinking about engineering and what is below their streets. This Lego set seems pretty awesome and since it’s Lego it’s not really that disgusting it’s just blocks after all but it helps you process the problem

One time when I worked out in the garden center at my work, I smelt this horrible smell coming from under a shipping container. I told my bosses, and apparently I wasn't the first to complain, we thought it was from the raccoons that go under the containers from time to time until I noticed it. The food truck in the parking lot had been dumping their fat down the rainwater drain. We eventually had some huge cleaning trucks come in and clean it out, smelt horrible.

The original idea had the fatberg fighters beneath 8-10 Fetter Lane in the City of London. But, rather than fat, they appeared to be shoving brown sludge that had a distinct aroma of cows. Males cows in particular!

This set has 2 obvious alternative builds: 1: Replace the sever workers with GHOSTBUSTERS and make that "fat" purple/pink instead of yellow. Instant Ghostbusters 2 movie set. 2: Replace the Burger place with a pizzeria and put some Turtles Figures into the sewer. Easy Turtles Movie/cartoon set.

Fatbergs are a pain to get rid of. Sewer and Drainage cleaning is among the worst things a person could work with. And wouldn't be necessary if people actually used their sinks and drains in a proper manner.
