“Great talent, Great voices, Pure Magic.” Love ❤️ The Ronettes. R.I.P. To Estelle Bennett 2009 at the age of 67 and R.I.P. Ronnie Spector 2022, at the age of 78

Thanks for this. They were all pretty women. I’m glad she got royalties for Be My Baby. And I’m very glad that Phil Spector finally got his!

The Ronettes are such a legendary group. There music will live on for decades to come. They had what every group needed to make it big. Great looks, great style and great music. You need those three things if you are trying to make it in the music business and the Ronettes definitely had all three. The Ronettes were what the 1960s was all about. RIP Estelle Bennett and Ronnie Spector.🙏

Trust me, The Ronettes were MAGICAL to a 10 year old kid in a small town in the Midwest in the '60s. Their look, their sound. I about died when I saw them on American Bandstand. I still think "Be My Baby" was the most perfect pop record ever made!

My favorite song by Ronnie was "Is that what time it is I want to come over" that came out in 1978.
@Jack-ke5uvАй бұрын
The Ronettes sounded better in live performances than on record. On record, the voices of Nedra and Estelle were always overdubbed with a chorus of studio session singers or completely absent from the track. The first time I heard Nedra and Estelle live without all the studio session singers was an eye opener. Their voices were so good that I could not understand why Phil Spector muted their voices on recordings with session singers or kept them off the session completely.

Nedra has stated she loved to dance and it is evident in some live performances when the girls do their thing. Unfortunately, these are very rare because Phil was very controlling and didn't like any of them, especially Ronnie. going off script.

The Ronettes were one of the greatest Girl Groups of the 1960's. They hsd many great songs! It's too bad they were treated so badly by Spector. At least Ronnie's remaining later years with Springfield were happy. Thanks for the great songs Ronnie, Estelle and Nedra! RIP Estelle, & Ronnie! I miss you both! I'm glad Nedra is still alive. As for Spector, he may have been a musical genius, but very few people in the recording industry liked him! RIP Spector, and may God forgive me, but good riddance to you! You murdered Lana Clarkson! I hope for your sake as people say, you aren't presently writing songs in Hell with Charles Manson!
