Great video. Do you prefer T27 (flat face) or T29 (angled face) flap discs? Thanks!

Ive looked into a bunch of shapening machines/jigs. Althought they will work on straight blades mulcing blades can not be shapened on them correctly. Only ever saw one that would follow the blade contour continously to sharpen mulching blades. Otherwise making the adjustments by hand was the 2nd best approach.

I just went to Amazon and looked at your blade balancer. I think you would sell more if you had a video on the sale page of it being used. Just a thought.

Use a magic marker The cutting edge prior to grinding, will the grinder not running scrape the bevel to see if it covers it all, the magic marker will allow you to see the scratches. This is a knife maker trick

Was wondering how long it would take for a company to knock off the All American Blade Sharpener. Been using that one for a few years. I'm sure this one is probably much cheaper to buy. Thanks for the review.

I see a lot of these. Works pretty well.

Should be wearing dust mask with your eye protection. And use a 60 grit, 120 will take all day
@fredrickward76726 ай бұрын
Most of the videos say 40 grit. You said 60 grit. Which one would be better?

Either is fine

The problem with the knockoffs is that they habitually get the angles wrong. Also,, it's not possible to tell if you centered the grinder on the blade edge. That's fine using the adjustment on the arm where the pin goes through.

On another channel they ground on the top of the blade to balance instead of the cutter

Folks overthink sharpening. Chainsaw skarpening is most often done in the field with a hand file and jig. Does a fine job and little hassle. When it comes to lawnmower blades, folks seem to need some mechanical aid. As you stated, many of these jigs and machines exist. These are fine for the professional landscapers and small engine pro shops.The common flat file is never promoted as a means to sharpen lawnmower blades. For the everyday homeowner, the flat file is the best value and the least likely to cause harm to the blade or the folks doing the sharpening. Frequent touchup sharpening is the best course when maintaining a lawnmower blade. Waiting until it is more of a propeller than blade is too late. The common hand file requires no electricity, will not heat the blade being sharpened, is really affordable and will give decades of service if cared for and stored properly. Requires elbow grease .. good for concentration and gives a bit of physical exercise. Lawnmower blades need not be razor sharp. Doing so will actually cause them to dull more quickly. Removing all nicks is not necessary. But most folks like consuming products as a hobby. Thus, the proliferation of needless tech. I view channels to see what folks are sharing with other folks. For the community aspect. But in recent years, more and more of the posters are going more for the revenue than the goodwill sharing aspect. Keep it simple has been lost and replaced with overtech solutions. Your channel is yours to run as you wish. I am just stating my views. All the best to you going forward.5:07 .

People don’t want to have blades balanced and sharpened for 5 bucks each now 😢, they just don’t care about how the cut turns out 😮
