In reply to Terrence Timmons - indeed, it's actually a very tough final boss for sure. Many people would think it was gonna be an easy one, but there are 3! Blue, Orange and Green (red palette in this case), the missiles go *_insanely fast_* and nearly nothing but EE can stop them. Not to mention it dealt a lot of damage to the player.

Cool, but the gun is way too fast at the beginning. What I love about the original is a legitimate challenge. Also, are the baddies weaker, or is the fire rate just that much faster?

The enemies are pretty much the same, except for new enemies having stronger attacks along with better defense (due to the player have less attack amount) And the creator of this hack pretty much make everything BARELY get to the 3rd level as well. Fire rate is the same, and at the beginning I actually "cheated" by using a turbo controller because... I actually grew up with a turbo controller from a bootleg Famicom console, about the same as this rate of fire. Eventually later in the game when you have enough turbo fire item, your rate will increase up to 60 press per second, just like in Zanac on NES as well (you know it was also made by Compile as well)

Turbo controllers give the rapid ability right away.

Yeah, it depends on what kind of turbo controller you use, and how many presses per seconds it presses when you hold the button. Mine is actually fast, so... yeah.

Hard to tell all of the differences, but I noticed that there were more difficult bosses in a lot of areas. Like in some of the labyrinths, a mini-boss would be replaced by one of the ones from one of the dungeons. It also looks like there are more enemies in general, and that they do more damage.

Most notably at 2:15:11 where the goddamn final boss of the original came to play earlier. First time I played, I almost had a heart attack seeing good ol' lobster skull.

@@EricPudalov Also, there were the addition of Orange bosses which seemed to be the most difficult class for many of the original bosses. As well, there was an overall speed increase in many of the enemies.

Man this game is heavily modified lol. And how in the world did you get 6000 chips? I like how the last boss was so fast you had to rapidly use your erasures lol. Nice job beating the last boss with 0 energy lol

I haven't played this game for a long time, but if I remember correctly, Optomon - the creator of the hack - actually added 1 more red lander so it increases your max chip from 4000 to 6000. And yeah the missiles it released has equivalent damage to the green missiles, so the only option is to use the EE in order to get rid of them without getting hit (although I still get a little bit of hit because of how fast it went).

@@Charly9631e repeller provides amazing defense against grimgrin's projectiles. place it between you and grimgrin. i've used it to great effect in vertical, and i think it may work out in labyrinth mode as well. I also think i may be possible to max out enemy erasers and maybe even consecutive firing withe the diagonal pyramid trick. for the former you must get a pyramid to drop in thhe right spot, and for the latter i think you can reveal it from one side withe a saber, then glitch through the wall on the opposite side. maybe.
