Intriguing point. Aku cheated this Prophecy by changing into a man, even though he isn't. Maybe I should have depicted somebody else coming along to defeat him only for his Journey to be stopped by Aku. After all, Aku did say he *E R A D I C A T E D* all of the time Portals.

@@ScotsThinker Dude awesome job. You have his ability to play with the length of the syllables of the words! The only thing I would have changed is some of his dialogue just a teeny bit. Like, instead of "You will pay for this!" I feel he would have said, "You shall pay for your insubordination!" (But like, that "Aku" way of saying, "IN-SUB-OR-DIN-A-TION," with that quick, slightly slushy inhale through saliva right before that word.) Like, other than that little nitpick... it does justice to both characters here, and is definitely canon to me. Samurai Jack was something my brother and I would watch as kids, but we loosened our interest a bit when school took priority. But one of my Dad's friends really liked the show, and I remembered liking him, but he died in a motorcycle accident. (They are all motorcycle buddies, it's why they are friends.) And my dad ended up getting all his Samurai Jack dvds, and we watched them... I really care about narratives, and it's hard to see something like Tolkien's LotR be butchered by Amazon, and it was hard to watch what I hesitantly call the final season of Samurai Jack, and I like justice to be done to characters in these stories, because in a way, those characters are part of us. And I guess that long winded comment is to say that this is something that even my Dad's dead friend would really approve of. That's the highest quality praise I could give this.

Dude, imagine if this played out in the actual show, just after jack got his sword back. We all would have thought he made it back to the guardian, then next thing, this plays out. We all get deceived by Aku and watch him fight the guardian to his last stand. I think season 5 lacked a proper Aku fight,(with his transformations, etc) The guardian looks into the portal while dying, and sees the future of Jack returning to the past,but we don’t see it. Then it cuts back to jack finding the broken portal in the future.

And that's what happened. We got this very bleak version of the already barren and corrupt world that was Jack's future, all the time portals are gone, Jack has been roaming the world for 50 years without the effects of aging slowing him down, who knows how he has been affected by the trauma for all that time? All that set up was more important for Genndy than keeping up with his story faithfully. Which is why I felt Season 5 was a mixed bag to me in all honesty. It could have been so much more.

It's almost scary to see the stages of the battle. At first it seems like the guardian has the advantage, but as the battle goes on, Aku doesn't seem to lose any strength and slowly pushes into offensive. Way to show how powerful Aku is - Samurai lost to guardian, while Aku wrecked him. Nice work.

Visual Storytelling which can work even with the sound on mute 3. Minimal, stylised aesthetics 4. Fast-Paced choreographed Action 5. Gritty Tone 6. Vocal talents (Send love and prayers to my friend who played the Guardian) 7. Attention to immersive Sound Effects (and knowing when to use Music)

Personally I think Aku jack should wear a hat and his hands covered by his sleeves. I also think Jack/Aku should look down. Aku’s shapeshifting has his color palette in all of his forms so it would be a green skined Jack with red hair and eyebrows with a white and black kimono. I also think Jack/Aku should talk until he shows himself. Other than that it was perfect.

this is exactly what I imagine happened to the Guardian after he didn't appeared in the last season... So, Aku knew about this portal eventually and fought the Guardian since Jack did mentioned that so many portals was destroyed in his 50 years time venturing in the future.

Aku himself did say in Season 5 Episode 2 that after he *A N N I H I L A T E D* all of the time portals, he thought he could wait it out until the Samurai would just *DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE*, but he hasn't even aged.

okay this amazing this adds lore to the story in this battle guardian laughs at aku face knowing that oneday jack will return to the past aku seeing this in a rage kills the guardian but but due to this aku gives up on chasing jack in order to ruin his plans because he thinks that jack will find a way back no matter what aku hiding in fear just how we see in s5 this is amazing way to add to the story i dont care what people say this is canon to me

Perhaps that retcon was made to disappoint on purpose to further emphasise the themes of despair in Season 5. With that said, maybe it would have been effective for Jack to mee the Guardian only for Aku to kill him off. All I know is that Aku did say he *E R A D I C A T E D* all of the Time Portals.

@@ScotsThinker Yeah.. IMO I feel we should have had that rematch. Jack defeats Guardian and then Aku comes and kills the guardian and destroys the portal. That would have more impact than having Aashi. I personally hate that they brought Aashi in the last season and the last season was more about Aashi than Jack. Jack barely used his sword in the entire season. I still am disappointed with the ending. Even the final fight with Aku lacks when compared to any of the other Aku fights or even Aku's fight with Jack's father. I feel Ashi ruined the story by becoming a love interest. I would not have minded a student-mentor relationship instead.
