Head and arm choke and RNC are the first chokes for a newbie because they teach how important position is, and encourage them to focus on that over randomly yanking on things to try and get a tap.

Thanks for the video! Ironically, I never learned the guillotine choke and could never apply it properly, so I would use the setup to transition to mount or side control and implement some form of lapel choke (preferred types of chokes for me).

Lapel chokes are great unless you're no gi, which you'll be in the street. I train primarily for fun, but I'd like it to be valuable in a real scenario

Guillotine is the only move I know because some older Hawaiian dude showed me it drunk at a party in like 2011 when I was a teenager and one of the few legitimate fights I’ve been in I got charged by a guy almost twice my weight that tried to go low and left his head out front and I standing guillotined him tight AF and he tried hitting me a couple times basically just flailing his arms then as a last ditch effort used his size to launch me over a couch and at that point I was laying on my back with him still being guillotined and he was tapping super hard but I kept doing it until I got pulled off by 3 other guys.

My dream is when a big ass dude shoots me like that and ends up in the exact same way, except in a real fight they start wildly swinging on your face and chest so you have to really sink the choke and get it over with quick, they go limp and you should immediately let go unless you think they're faking then wait 2 seconds.
