As usual, Eric is spot on the voice of reason I’ll speak for the silent majority of Canadian fans. Leave these kids alone. All you can ask them to do is compete and that’s what they’re doing love everyone of these players I thoroughly enjoy every game win lose or tie

It’s hilarious that Tony still wants Michkov after knowing we have Demidov… Reinbacher is gonna be an important piece to this defence when he’s ready I have no doubts about that, BUT if the Habs were gonna pass on him it shouldn’t have been for Michkov it should have been for Leonard, That’s the only guy I would have wanted over Reinbacher, If the Habs were not taking Leonard then Reinbacher should have been and was the pick… Personally even if we took Michkov I don’t even see him fitting on this team, I’m not too sure he would have bought into what Marty expects from his players, The player Caufield is turning into is absolutely amazing, I’m not too sure Michkov would have wanted to really focus on the off puck game…. Demidov is the type of kid to do that and he’s gonna fit well in the locker room. Demidov is a buy in type of player.

Great comment. I fully agree with your take. Talking Mitchov is getting old. I am happy the Habs passed on this guy, I am happy with who they picked and as you said. Ryan Leonard, IMHO would have been the alternative outside of picking Reinbacher

You are quite a two-faced person Tyler !!! I remember very well since I have been reading you for a couple of years that you were totally "outraged" the night Montreal did not take Michkov; but after drinking the kool-aid, you are now criticizing people who are still believing Montreal should have drafted Michkov instead of Reinbacher !!! If I were you, I would be more discreet about it. You also forgot to say that back then, you also wanted Michkov, Benson and Leonard over Reinbacher...Indeed, I remember very well !!!

Can we remember (the players should know), usually those comments come from 5% of the fans and the media take that 5% to talk about it 90% of the time to stir things around the team to get views. We are all chill here.

They are professional athletes. And the majority in their 20s. And they are “tired”. They travel in 1st class chartered flights. Chefs prepare their meals and have access to the best quality food. They take mid-afternoon naps. An attendant does their laundry. They have access to full time massage therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and trainers. They have access to a state of the art gym with contrast baths, jacuzzis and saunas. And they are “tired”. WOW! Compare that to the 40yr old who is presently putting in a 40hr/week shift working outside on scaffolding building the new towers in downtown Montreal. At -18C. The guy who battles traffic at 06:00 everyday to arrive on time. Has a 15min break in the morning, eats his sandwich and celery sticks packed the night before in his lunchbox, and then battles traffic again to go home. This is seriously pathetic.

Another great episode with Eric. Glad you talked about the the so called Habs fans that are loudest and the Reinbacher haters. So tired of it. Most of these people bitching have NEVER played hockey outside of House League. It's great as Habs fans there are so many passionate fans. But it's that small percentage that just ruin it for the rest. These same people will be hooting and hollering for him when Habs win a Cup before Philly

As much as the habs have shown big efforts of the last 5 weeks ,i do not think they have enough gas in the tank to make the series.But it is positive where they now seem to be at. next season add Demidov and that other european player that was the last to be cut in training camps those two will bring more talent to the Habs.

I was an olympic rower in 2016 for canada, and i always thought it was so funny when journalist say hockey players are tired during the regular season, They play 15min-20min a night. and get lots of rest. Physiology, nutritionist, recovery bath, massage therapist, We had the same team for recovery, and let me tell you we row an average 200km per week, and used to do our 2km machine test with no taper (rest) and still everyone would feel 100% going into it and everyone would perform crazy numbers. The boys are 20-30 yrs old. Tired maybe mentally.. but never physically that's for sure

It’s because the journalists in question have no clue what training is. They are sedentary and are incapable of understanding your training regimen. I’m 61yr and cycle in-door (ZWIFT ) 8hr/week. I hit the gym 3X/week and yoga class 4X/week. I get my sleep and ensure I eat low-glycemic index food. And I put in 40hr/week at work. Am I “tired”? Hell no! I feel great. This is so pathetic.

How are they tired if they start slow and finish stronger in the third? Those first class flights must be exhausting. I guess TB who is older was more fresh even though they played Toronto the night before. This is BS.
@Doppps
@Doppps 8 күн бұрын
The hard part of the travel schedule is what they just went through. You’ll see a team like Toronto go through it soon and look tired as well I am guessing. The schedule has easier and harder travel. “Tired” is also lots of games and no practice time. “Tired” is also meaning the first time half the team is pushing for a playoff spot. It’s more of a mental thing. They are young and their legs shouldn’t be tired, I agree. But their minds are probably tired and if the mind is tired the legs get tired.

If you truly believe they are tired and it is that easy to see then are we saying finally that MSL is a bad coach?You put your best players out there no matter of status if your top players are tired then you give them less ice time.The coach shouldn't be burning out his players anyhow if they hope to make the playoffs they will have nothing left in the tank. If the coach is not good enough to teach his players good thinking concepts then he at least should run the players minutes properly MSL has to do something more than wear a suit and visit the press after games.

When Matheson is on his game, he’s really good. When he’s at his worst, his decision-making is really poor and it leads to sh*t. I agree that he gets too much hate, but he’s gotta stop thinking he’s Bobby Orr.

That irrational, unbalanced, undiscerning, given to hysterics part of the fan base is shameful. I despise them with a passion. Ironically, they demand perfection while they act like pathetic confirmation biased petulant losers. They should have the same standards of perfection for themselves that they demand for the players they relentlessly criticise.

100% that pass was Laine's fault
@MixutiniPark
@MixutiniPark 8 күн бұрын
That pass by Laine was far from ideal, however let's not act like the team wasn't struggling as a whole almost the entire game. There are basically 2 camps: 1. It's matheson's fault 2. It's Laine's fault This was not a good game by the team and should not be blamed on either Matheson or Laine alone. Both of them were part of that play and it did not succeed. Matheson played poorly almost the entire game while Laine was alright, but made a mistake at a bad time. Fans need to stop dogpiling individual players and look at the bigger picture.
@Erik-ms3du
@Erik-ms3du 8 күн бұрын
@MixutiniPark Matheson plays too much, not his fault, I see no blame to be put on him. Laine, however, I am not a member of the fan club. He doesn't back check regularly and makes bad passes every game. The team as a whole struggled, but I have been less than impressed by Laine everywhere but the power play.
@tak4043
@tak4043 8 күн бұрын
I was watching one habs game and whole team made horrible passes and scary defensive mistakes, then Laine did a minor mistake that had no chance of leading to anything and the guy on the stream singles him out with: "Laine with a horrible defensive play". He's very noticeable player but he ain't that bad even strength, even while he's been playing with the 2 worst forwards in the team. Whom been showing some sings of life after playing with Laine. Dach after Laine: -4. Dach before Laine -20.
@ph469
@ph469 8 күн бұрын
If Laine had spoken up and accepted the "bad pass", no one would be all over Matheson.
@Erik-ms3du
@Erik-ms3du 8 күн бұрын
@tak4043 The whole team started to play better around the time Laine joined. Dach's +- has very little to do with playing with Laine. If any player is to blame for improving Dach's +- it would be carrier stabilizing the defense. However, really, it was a coincidence as the team was bound to regress to the mean at some point.
