The Rizzet scene was great: A very elegant way to show the players an unexplored side chamber, feed them some extra lore and show some more of the factions personality. I would have been afraid of doing that out of fear of being too heavy-handed as a GM but this is a great example of how the GM can steer firmly but increase player agency at the same time. You're an inspiration Jon!

OSE as a fine art! Seriously, I cannot listen for long to most actual play streams, but yours is the shining exception. To watch these episodes from the beginning, there are layers of interest, intrigue, and excitement through exploration that build over time. I actually don’t know how your group does it, but it’s truly engaging content. What’s so unique in this medium is the sense that no one knows where it’s going or what turns it will take including the players. Great episode!

Oh man, the first time they descended the stairs beneath the pyramid and read the graffiti was an epic moment. You just know you're in for a fascinating and exciting journey. And then every time we encounter a new faction and learn about them, or a new NPC, the feeling returns. Incredible campaign, really. Edit: or a new piece of lore, or a hidden staircase, or a message scrawled in Dwarven that nobody can read... So many mysteries and questions to be answered.

Has the club already encountered another copy of the book "Thoth in All His Forms?" Or did they find those secret names in another work? I'm inclined to believe the former -- I specifically remember them getting four from a book and that three were omitted (intentionally omitted, if memory serves, and it might not).

Hearing the club suggest putting a scroll in the "worthy receptacle," I had a thought; assuming you're not the first to do so, Thoth has probably accumulated quite a bit of scholarly magical knowledge. I wonder if one would ask him for knowledge of a spell, could he grant it? Could the asker receive it and cast it? 🤔 Jon also makes it very clear shortly thereafter that Thoth has an association with magic, and that many of his followers were magic users.
