Congrats on 80 episodes! The AV Club seeing a payoff from the seeds sown episodes in the past (but probably only a couple of days ago in game time). I always thought David was the one who got the Club off track but I see now that they whole lot of you are looking for squirrels. Thanks again for sharing you guys make my commutes bearable. SPOILERS below: Did everyone check their pockets after their encounter in the Goblin Market? I was screaming at Lothar and the rest of the club to not engage with the the two from the Broom party. Especially after Mike has specifically said that he had put the circlet in a place that was easily accessible on his belt...

Commenting as I watch - ok so Wulfart is now a Fighter. Interesting. Assuming he survives the episode… is this a significant step in the AV Club’s path to creating their own safe haven sans existing factions? Given the old school rules about fighters being able to build strong holds at any level as long as they have the cash (and cash is one thing they do have).

You definitely might be onto something here. It's really going to come down to whether Jon thinks it makes sense in the context of the campaign.

I’m wracking my brain to think if he’s the first actual Fighter PC (not NPC) in the line up. There’s been so many other classes played but possible not Fighters.

He is the first Fighter PC. I don’t use the strict RAW regarding strongholds. If anyone has the means and influence to build a stronghold, they’re welcome to try. I don’t gate it behind level. Same with followers.

Not to defend RAW, but asking out of curiosity, in your house rules do Fighters get anything then in their basic package in exchange? Yes, they have good hit dice, but that guy is throwing around fireballs, guy next to him is moving silently up the corridor in the shadows, etc… Meanwhile Lunk the Mighty Meatshield hits stuff good. Early access to a stronghold (once the cheque clears my good sir) was a point of difference (without introducing a new game mechanic to bypass challenges mid-dungeon).

@guerintueno2066 We lean into equipment defining a character’s capabilities, not their class abilities. My fighters have Cleave, as well. Plus, I’d love to hear the actual stats on how many fighter players through the years actually capitalized on that stronghold rule. I bet very, very few.
