I saw an early screening of the Hangover a week before release while I was stationed at Twentynine Palms, CA for the Marine Corps. To this day, I have not experienced watching a film with an audience who has laughed as loud or as frequently as that night at the on base theater. One of my favorite movie theater memories ever. Still hilarious today.

@@michaelakkerman407 Thanks for your insights, MA407. For me, I don't find "The Godfather: Coda" (or "The Death of Michael Corleone") all that bad, so I consider "The Godfather" a fine trilogy, despite the choppiness of the final "chapter." Of course movie preferences are just like music or art preferences: totally subjective; not everyone will be affected the same way by the same symphony or landscape painting.

One year at Thanksgiving my brother-in-law had the bright idea that we should watch this movie with my grandparents. My grandfather is the most religious man I know. He goes to church every single day. Our grandmother later told us that he was genuinely worried he was going to be excommunicated after watching this. And I will never forget watching the scene where they first wake up the next morning, and Stu is lying on the ground, and my grandma loudly asking "Is that Dr. McFa**ot?" The Hangover is NOT grandparents approved.
