My friend thinks I am nuts for eating carnivore. One day she was perplexed and was telling me how unmotivated and lazy she was (trying to get pregnant and thinks it will happen through more veggies and work outs). I told her, you know, I used to think the same thing. I was fat, "lazy" unmotivated. I was so hard on myself. But it wasn't until I had TRUE energy on carnivore that I realized I never was lazy. I was sick. I was tired and achy. Working out made my body hurt worse and exhausted me. You truly can not just lay around with this kind of energy. New ideas pop up into my head and I just do them. I used to have horrid anxiety so I never went anywhere! Now I find myself going out of my way to make new friends, to find fun hikes. I wake at 4am and go to bed by 9pm. I walk a mile in the am and a mile in the pm before bed. I have two toddlers! Other moms look at me like I am nuts for waking so early. But I can now. Before, I had to peel my face off the pillow at 6, stumble my way through breakfast, drink coffee while I placed my kids infront of cartoons because I legit couldn't handle being a mother for at least 2 hours upon waking:( How sad!?!? My friend for the first time just looked at me and said nothing. I could tell I hit a cord. For anyone reading this. It is worth it. Sure, I miss the junk, but the further I get into this life the more the benefits outweigh the half hour enjoyment of sugar only to have a horrid crash that I have to chase with coffee!! And the cycle just keeps repeating itself. No fun! Do it for your kids, Your partner, your family. Because you really have no idea what kind of life you are missing out on until you feel it.

This was me from age of 14. When I needed fat my mother switched our family to a “low-fat diet”. I lost my shit. Grumpy, anxious, depression, suicidal. Alcohol helped me feel normal & kept me alive. Dysfunctional relationships with men. Insert a child at 42, straight into menopause. Lower carbs overall but still not enough fat, wicked exhaustion. I found the less food i ate overall the better I felt. Meditation & processes never helped calm my mind consistently. Now at 52 I’ve eliminated most plants & consume lots of fat. I am running long distances without pain. And only into this for 3 months. My 25k last week was faster than 15 years ago. I am calm & not annoyed by my family. I don’t fight myself anymore. I want to run and exercise. I am AWARE now. I can hear my body & intuition constantly guiding me. As a woman, FAT is key. My oldest, dearest friends think I’m nuts but I’m the only one not sick & severely overweight. Stronger everyday!! Thank you Laura for speaking out. I am no longer hungry or hangry, finally!!🎉

A really insightful discussion. Lookijg back at my life and relationships, I can see that I was always looking for something I was lacking, but didn’t know what it was. I’ve been told many times that I have an ‘addictive’ personality because I have been extreme with food, alcohol, clothes and exercise. Now people think I’m in yet another addiction, addicted to meat and fat! However, this time I’m not searching for something else and have an inner peace like I’ve never felt before.

I also got the same results the guest had.. three days was how long it took for me to notice how much a regular diet was messing with my mental health! I never considered myself depressed, but now, into carnivore for a year, I've realized that i was, and i was mad when i realized this! How long had I been messed up, mentally, from the food i was eating.. all because of lies being told. It really makes me wonder what the extent of mental health issues are due to your dietary intake? The calmness and the peace I have on carnivore alone is why i will never go back!!

Hardcore carnivore may not be necessary. Animal-based may be sufficient and superior? However the worst diets (worst to least worst) are likely SAD, Vegan, Vegetarian, Whole-Omni). I think many people can get 60% of the improvements they seek with only Whole-Omni, and this may be the best first step for many to take. You cant stuff whole foods with added sugar and seed oils.. it's a good start.

Aside from the vegetarian diet, Laura's experience describes mine almost perfectly! Today I was talking to a poor 14 year old vegetarian. I asked him why not look into carnivore, I'd be Arnold Swarzenegger and probably an inch or two taller if I started at your age! He says no thanks, meat is gross and he likes animals too much. So sad. I said ok, but if you start having health problems, remember what I mentioned. Then I see he responded to someone else about how he was having bad fatigue 😢 At 14.

Tell them that as a vegan they are causing more animal death and harm than a carnivore. To make tofu, while plowing the field they are killing the bunnies, frogs, turtles, mice. . . And many more. Not to mention all the chemicals. Yet a cow can live it's natural habitat grazing grass and replenishing the soil etc.... and we only need like 1 or 2 cows per year as a carnivore. Please. Let them know that if they are an " animal lover " they will be carnivore.

This rings so true. I think we've grossly underestimated the mental stress effect of constant hunger when eating useless foods that disrupt our system and pass straight through us. When this is removed on the carnivore diet there's a mental clarity and it's like nothing I've ever experienced. I've realised in the last couple weeks since I started, like "wow, so this is what normal feels like, what stability feels like" and it's continuous day after day after day.

Another thing that has disappeared is the numbness I used to experience. When I slept on my left side, my right hand would go completely numb, waking me up in pain. But now, that sensation is totally gone. I'm not even sure when it went away, maybe around two months in ish.100% you dont hurt after strenuous work. I worked on my car couple days ago, haven't done any hard work in 10yrs, i was on the side of the road, in mud, crouched for 3hrs, changed a suspension arm instead of towing "because i can". after that , i didnt feel tired at all and the next day had no muscle ache what so ever. Normally that sort of work your legs would be killing the next day.

Regenerative farming with cows actually maintains the top soil that is needed for vegetation that convert carbon dioxide into oxygen that we need . Without soil and vegetation (especially trees) , there wouldn't even be an Athmosphere around Earth , so eat Farmed meat without hesitation, or worry for the Environment .

This was fascinating. All of us carnivores already know how good we feel, and will keep trying to spread the message. It was interesting, however, to hear a discussion about how the carnivore diet affects the world at large, about how we may potentially become better human beings and not just focus on the health benefits. Props to you both. Just out of interest, I think both Hitler and Stalin were vegetarians, as was Charles Manson.

Neediness and attachment issues don't always stem from being hungry, I agree with her a lot of it can be driven by bad diet, that depression can be triggered by plant and sugar based diets, but this coach should be aware of the shadow work that needs to be done apart from dietary changes. There is still a lot of emphasis on food in the carnivore community, but no one tends to link it with inner work, with the need to get away from the noise, be on your own for a while to figure out what triggers us, to be aware that we often project our fears and anger on others... The mind and body are connected and yes, carnivore helps nourish the mind, but the necessary inner work can't be replaced with a steak.

Yeah i started getting sore hands from holding books...and phone. Would travel up my arm to my elbow too. Id be constantly massaging it. Sleep is better in the sense that when im tired, i dont hsve to stay up until my eye balls are falling out. Im sleepy and i think OK ill got to bed and turn off the light and boom im sleep. Never ever in my life have i been able to sleep like that unless im Physically exhausted. Sometjmes not even then can i turn off the chatter in my mind. Im waiting for excercise. I did Keto 3 years ago and then adter 5 weeks i just coukdnt force myself to eat anymore..needed 1800 calories 70/25/5 etc. So i did an extended fast and day 2 - 4 i was just bursting with energy!!! I felt like i was on drugs..mind was super clear, body wanted to move. Hoping that comes back soon. Im only on week 6 though. Correction week 7. 13kgs down. 27 to go.

I have never been a vegetarian, much less a vegan: but I've tried to respect others choices and create tasty foods that conform to their preferences. My personal choices have always been about three-quarters org veg/ one quarter clean meats. I have fared better than many of my peers, with no chronic problems or meds: just simple nutrition, good sleep, and consistent physical motion in outdoor artistic efforts. I haven't considered full-carnivore as a reasonable option before, but weighing the possibilities: I've decided: why not give three months a committed go?!

I had minor chronic pains and issues with sleep but largely considered myself far healthier than the average person. Certainly compared to my peers. Carnivore makes sense, reflecting on a lot of my experience as a former athlete it explained a lot of the issues I ran into. Decided to give it a go for 30 days. Its been about a year now and I don't plan on stopping. Just the simplicity it has brought to my life alone is worth it, not even counting the remediation of the majority of the minor complaints I did have.

OMG, yes of course! I heard it before but totally forgot, but now that I hear it again it makes so much sense. You don't get sore muscle from exercise on carnivore! Of course that's it! I was thinking, I have to push harder, I feel the pump at the gym, I'm putting on muscle, but don't have aching muscle on the following day, what's going on? Should I change my exercise routine or do something? Nope, that's it!

Dear Anthony Chaffee MD, Greetings from Queensland Australia. I was in line at the Post Office on Thursday 09/05/2024 (last week) and I started telling jokes to the people around me. The woman in front tried to answer my questions but failed. I then made a comment about my carnivore diet and she said that that would not work you her as she was a vegan. I asked her “Why?” and she said that people don’t make their own Vitamin C and you can only get Vitamin C from fruit. She also stated that she was a naturopathic practitioner and had done the research. I was about to suggest that she was killing people when she saw the line had moved and she moved away from me. Anyway, I think the meat we eat get it’s Vitamin C from the grass/plants that that meat eats and we get our Vitamin C from that meat. Would you please direct me to a source that can verify this? Regards, Glenn Fordyce

First of all you don't need vitamin C for scurvy because you get all the building blocks from the meat that you are eating. So you don't need it for that. Second of all meat does have vitamin C, she's dead wrong there, and liver has more vitamin C per gram than apples do. So wrong on all accounts on her end.

Interestingly, the Wikipedia entry for vitamin C doesn't really talk about it, but the Wikipedia entry for scurvy does. It's buried halfway down in the History section, but it's a pretty decent read.

Also scurvy is protein and zinc deficiency! Not vitamin C. Same for “toxic “Vitamin A deficiency. No such thing , it’s meat/zinc deficiency. Led up the garden path for sure!
