I strongly believe that emotions are our most basic and honest way of expressing values. I believe in the ACT method, but also in the Happy Child project, which teaches that forming a safe bond with others is the best way to achieve lasting happiness because people are social creatures. The best way to do this is to not respond to emotions in the moment, but instead provide comfort, and repair after the fact. I think these approaches should be seen as mutually beneficial, because both teach us to give way to our emotions and choose our actions based on values. Nevertheless, even when people deal with emotions in an unhealthy way it's important to postpone judgement and try to see the underlying value.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is about exposing yourself to your feelings without trying to escape them and then move toward your values.
@wizbuskout
@wizbuskout Жыл бұрын
Yup, know what's going on like an observer. And then decide how you want to approach. Escaping the problems (both inside and outside) makes them even harder to solve.

I'm glad! Happiness has a different meaning. People often confuse happiness with pleasure. Knowing the difference between these two is essential to live a "good life" for real. Not in theory. 🙂

Can we take medications for depression wile on act
@wizbuskout
@wizbuskout Жыл бұрын
Hey, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid this is not the right place for medical-related advice. This video is for awareness purpose only. You might need to consult a professional clinical psychologist for this. Also, I'm uncertain whether medications are needed for these things or not. It really depends on many things. So, you need someone who can judge your case correctly and help you on an individual level. It'd be stupid of me to give any general advice on this without knowing anything about you. So Sorry!

Yep, one can always draw parallels between psychology and religious teachings. If they help you become a better human being and minimize suffering, accept them. But always keep testing. Don't believe anything without reason. 👍

@@wizbuskout After research more on this book. The book isnot only similar to but it based on principle of buddhism. Things like mindfulness, defuse from emotion, know self ect.

I see, but I remember reading something like "the therapy isn't based on any religion or so..." The author has come up with his own Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. 😅 I'm not sure about who named it though. So I'd say do your own research on this. 👍

What if its feelings in your body, ie anxiety that trigger the thoughts?
@wizbuskout
@wizbuskout 6 ай бұрын
You can watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWbNc6Kaebqda68 First, you have to figure out the root cause of anxiety. Body and mind are connected. If body has some problem, you won't feel well. But if it's purely psychological, you have to train your mind. For example, if you always feel anxious in certain situations, try putting yourself more into such situations and tell yourself that it's going to be alright. Train your mind with evidence. Merely speaking affirmation won't work for very long.

Normalize being happy Dont chase happiness, but simply just be happy You can control your thoughts dont let your thoughts control you

Great. Simply, do the right thing. Don't expect happiness out of everything. And controlling your thoughts and forcing them to be a certain kind doesn't help much. Distance yourself a little bit from your thoughts and emotions. And make wise choices.

I do feel all these talks are kind of biased or one way talks . Like PPL who are more inclined towards leftist or rightist. Is it applicable to normal PPL but not to PPL fighting with depression ? Because it is recommended that do things which makes them happy , in fact it helps to come out of anxiety and depressed feelings . But I also feel what you are saying is also one way true where if we fall into getting too much is also problematic like perfectionists etc , kind of expecting always dopamine is not good. But you should know growth mindset with dopamine boost and focusing on shorter achievements and satisfaction pushes you forward . So what's right what's not right , what's working what's not working is subjective and based on situations , conditions of the person and all other factors . But anything too much is bad , while right balanced approach is necessary.

Yes, you're right. People with specific problems need specific solutions. I think the book itself targets a specific kind of readers. And so does the summary. Thanks for putting your thoughts out and giving clarity on this. To you specifically, I'd suggest not to treat my videos or any other videos on such matters as the final truth. Just take whatever learning you feel will be useful. Not everything works for everyone. And yes, Dopamine is not evil. Just relying too much on it or having an obsession with it or anything else in life tends to create problems I think. So as you said: Moderation is the key 🙂 I'll try to do my best. And keep your points in mind in the future. 🤟 Hope it was helpful. 👍

Hello, correct Chaitanya in my opinion. The idea is the balance, I also say that... that is why I am suggesting that tackling thoughts is also necessary... ( distortions buy David Burns, Aaron Beck... ) and as you say, activation is also necessary in my opinion.

Not gonna lie. I'm happy every second of my life. Always have been. I'm alive, I have food, shelter, and clothes. I used to be homeless and in and out of jail. Still happy. Divorced. Happy. Alcoholic. Happy. 3 years in prison. Happy. My brain never knew what depression or being sad even is. All I got from this book is "turn your brain off and just float". Would not recommend.

The reading was horrible. Can’t you get an actual human being to read the text? Listening to a robot mispronounce so many words and speak in a monotone is distracting. Good information but terrible presentation.
