Bummer to see that just like the Grand Cherokee Jeep is sliding the wrong direction. I have one of the first of the 2nd gens that rolled out in the end of 2017. I am not a fan of the new interior, and disappointed that they retained some of the worst parts of the car and added more garbage to it. I hate what they've done to the Jeep logo on the steering wheel. The floating tablet radio screen design is awful. The 2.4 motor should not exist in anything except for rental fleet cars. Can't believe we still don't get the hybrid option here in the US. I don't want things like self driving, self parking, self braking, etc. I want to be responsible for the vehicle's movements, as a programmer and high school robotics coach I don't trust that tech as far as I can throw it. The active drive low system is a total joke. The only good additions are the surround camera and finally a place to put your cell phone. Other than that, everything else looks to be going the wrong direction in terms of styling, features, and capability. Mine has 55k miles on it now and if it gets totaled in an accident tomorrow I won't be going back for another Compass, maybe not for any Jeep product at all unless they get their priorities sorted out. They dropped the CVT when this current design generation came out in...2017? 2016? I still don't understand why they keep using that 2.4l ancient motor this should've had at least the 2l turbo for awhile now and you'd think they'd target the Bronco sport at least as competition.
