Update from Glencoe 2022: A lot of work has been done on the lower half of both red+black runs to make them more easy to ride without compromising on the fun and steepness. This includes a lot of new bridges and wooden features on the red and lots of new gravel and stonework on the black.

It's refreshing to see on youtube that raw first run on a trail like that. Noping out on features at first sight, and building up to it later. Whats it's like for the regular punter, and not just full send like its nothing, like you see on videos from pros/advanced riders. Just subscribed.

Well done mate. That black run is legit and to clean it with only the 2 chicken lines on your second run is incredibly good. That drops ok but that steep section into the boarded right is savage. I wish the red was open the day I was there!

Andrew, I'm glad you have the wits and honesty to share this 1st visit with all the curious previews over the lips of the drops. Clearly this Black one is not to be run blind... 8:38 looked like you would have been swallowed up whole had you not stopped or had lots of blind speed! Back to the red route at 9:06 so you can remember what its like to ride a bike without stopping, have fun, and not worry about which body part will need healing! You did well on your 2nd run down the black and it was wise to quit thereafter while you had your wits and grit in tack for another visit. Certainly the black run didn't have much margin for error and looks to be unstable enough to be worthy of another preview run on your next visit. Nice review and comparison at the end.

We rode the DH track on the SDA bedding in day long before most of the rock was visible or the extra stuff put in. They basically hacked a line down the hill and offered cheap lifts to get wheels down it... It was dangerously hilarious 😂 skidding your way down in axle deep mud to hopefully get caught by the few corners they built up.... I'll never forgot that day.... It was nuts

Agree with you, I think the Black at Glencoe is one of the most intimidating and challenging tracks open to the public in the UK. Rode it earlier this year, and exactly like you; did a few runs and the red and just a couple on the black. Tough ride on a trail bike, just getting down cleanly is win I swerved the last drop/jump as well, scary stuff...

Hmmmm not sure on that black like, doesn't look fun to me. Have ridden much of the red as part of the Macavalanche and yeah its pretty good. Been today, just to check it out as, one - I got up waaay to late, and two - it was absolutely pissing down first half of the day. Did one run on the red, and it looks NOTHING like on this video. One continues rock garden to to bottom. Those doubles - if you dare jumping them, land a tad heavy, in the wrong spot, your wheels will disintegrate. I will be back, just to see what I can make of it, but man, it caught me off guard, was expecting flow, jumps sweeping berms. Nope. I would say, the state it’s in now, it’s way harder then top chef at Ft Bill.
