At this rate, the next upload is gonna see Tom simultaneously playing three games of GeoGuessr Battle Royale while crossing Brazil in a straight-line.

Crossing brazil in a straight line is surprisingly doable. One could do it in 5km or so in the southern most point of the country. Mostly open and flat grasslands.

@@t-movb3969 That's true. The more the others use their guesses early the less they have to spam at the end. If you're confident in where you are, down to where it's unlikely everyone will get a better guess, an early guess would probably be better!

I might be misunderstanding how it works, but shouldn't you always enter your guess at the very last moment? If you're only giving yourself one attempt per round, entering your guess before the timer runs out just gives the other players a chance to react and try to overtake you. Good luck in the next one!
@weegaz22

But the 9 other players are all playing against each other, so it only takes one to guess right off the bat and then the others will follow to see how far away they are from the top answer, so it probably wont make much of a difference as I see it.

20:45 Some clues there should have been the apartment blocks, which were very South American. Also the width of the road, as well as the amount of lanes and straightness of it, it was obviously a capital or big, largely planned city. The most obvious clue were the buses and bus lanes, though, to me. Instantly recognisable as Bogota's excellent public transport.

When you’re doing this mode, you should hold your guess until the last second, particularly in the later rounds. If you put in a guess early, the other people will be able to spam guesses until they get one better than you. If you guess at the last second, they don’t have a chance to see that you’ve passed them and by how many miles and make a guess based on that. It makes it so that if they aren’t really sure and they either put their guesses all in the same (wrong) area or just kind of spread their guesses around everywhere you can sneak in with the closest one at the last second without them having a chance to respond to your guess.

Your videos are always nice to watch while chilling, you have the ultimate soothing voice. Also I have a video suggestion. "Where's that McDonalds (but more McDonalds)", its mcdonalds in various locations and it's pretty fun

Great video! This is a challenging format! I tried this with silvers and golds and I could only do it with a random insane guess in a Christchurch parking lot and then getting North Island right in the final. Btw Israel has the European license plate format (wide) and Colombia has the American 'square' plate. Israel also uses the white European road signs with a red border, not the yellow American ones.

Tip for guesses in Canada: - Quebec cars only have licence plates in the back, their street lights are sideways and everything is in french lol - If you see many smaller cars or german cars, it's in a bigger city (usually east coast - Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal)

I think a build-up to this would be quite cool where you are allowed to move and pan etc but still are only allowed one guess which still seems quite difficult seeing as other people are allowed multiple guesses. Then as you win with those conditions you can continuously make them harder until you reach this point again, almost like a final boss battle. Just a thought I had :)

Couple things that could help in the future, in the last round the lettering said "Movistar Arena", Movistar is telecom company operating mainly in Spain/Hispanic countries. And, as a German, that one round in Germany was relatively easy to discern because of that letterbox, i haven't seen those sloped roof style letterboxes much outside of Germany (And it even had the 'Deutsche Post' horn on it).

17:44 Hi Tom, FYI, road numbers in France starting with a D are known as Routes Départementales. Départements are small pieces of land (there are around 95 of them in Metropolitan France). You will find a road named « D1 » or « D144 » or « D820 » in almost all départements. So it is useless to search for « D138 » unless you know in which département you are in. You can know the département by different hints such as the departement number, or a big city nearby that could indicate more or less which departement you are in. Good luck!

for the round at about 11:00, i was thinking alaska. because on the concrete blocks it said "5mph" and in canada they use kmh. the location ended up being beaver creek which is just over the alaskan border but im sure if you guessed alaska you wouldve gotten the number 1 position

i believe guessing in the last second is always gonna be the best choice since people who have guessed under you will have a distance to go off and use guesses to get infront of you, especially if you know that you are guessing around the right area
@Kiwi2703

In this format it would be the wisest to guess as late as possible. You can't change it anyway, and that way you don't give other people the opportunity to "leech" off your guess by watching the distance change; especially in the later rounds.

Actually not. When he played with the highly skilled geoguessr community, he was so accustomed to not moving, he forgot he could move in the first few rounds. Then that overload of information actually stunted him a bit and he was much more comfortable and noticeably better once he was in the NMPZ rounds.
