I mean, pretty much everything you said here was rather moronic, but the fact that you think a video game is going to lift a self-made weight off your shoulders because you feel guilty about racism in America is especially stupid. You know that France, the country that the Harlem Hellfighters fought alongside, only banned slavery 20 years prior to WW1. And the only reason they even bothered to take them was to use them as meat-shields. The French never gave them any medals either.

If the Harlem Hellfighters are the main characters of the game it's because the makers thought that was a good story, I wish people would stop pretending this game is trying to be some kind of statement about war or racism, it's not. _"We're trying so hard to treat it respectfully. We want to depict the era, but with the purpose of building fun gameplay with variation. In the end, it's entertainment, we're not trying to make a statement."_ Lars Gustavsson - Disigner at DICE in interview with Gamespot
@hunterjohnson89038 жыл бұрын
It probably will be a good story, because it puts the player in someone's shoes who has a lot of backstory, which makes it easier for the devs to create a more accurate game full of factual and a little bit of fictional information.

I don't know about anyone else but this made me quite emotional. I got goosebumps when hearing the heroics of these men, and I wept when hearing about how they were treated. Nevermind how that generation of Americans treated them. The new generations of Americans DO recognize them and as an American, I am honored to call these men my fellow Americans.

I think it is great that the Harlem Hellfighters are included but seriously if the ANZAC's aren't included (I think I said this in another one of your videos) it would piss off myself and a lot of people I know, because Australia and New Zealand officially entered the war in 1914 where at that time the US was still funding the German war effort and it wasn't until 1917 the US Declared war on the Germans. Also on a side note I'm pretty sure some of the US forces were Assigned under Australian General John Monash (Who essentially created the Blitzkrieg tactic the Germans used during WW2, sorry Poland and well everywhere near Germany) during the Battle of Hamel

In addition to receiving the Medal of Honor from Obama while he was president in 2015 which took some doing apparently, Henry Johnson received the Destinguished Service Cross from the U.S. Military in 2002, and former President Clinton awarded Henry Johnson with the Purple Heart in 1996. Took my country long enough, but good to see that at long last his service was properly recognized.
