War is an American funk/rock/soul band from Long Beach, California, known for several hit songs. Formed in 1969, War is a musical crossover band that fuses elements of rock, funk, jazz, Latin, rhythm and blues, psychedelia, and reggae. They had a very talented group of musicians that played horns, keyboards, guitars and various percussion/drums. They had several big hits in the 70's.... "Why Can't We Be Friends" is my favorite and "Low Rider" was a HUGE radio hit.

Lee Oskar, the Harmonica player, is the only member of WAR whose name I know, but he is one of the stars of the group, and deservedly so. They were one of the great bands of the 70's, with a TON of hits. "The Cisco Kid", "Why Can't We Be Friends", "Low Rider", "Livin' In The Red", "Summertime", and "Spill The Wine" with Eric Burdon from The Animals, for example.

Big Soul JMBOY - I'm a very elderly Old White guy; I've seen WAR twice way back in the day. The Harmonica player with the killer Afro is Lee Oskar, is not only a white guy playing soul/funk/fusion, but he is from Denmark. Who says people can't get along. Soul music is a gift to the world.

War doesn't get talked about much nowadays but they were big back in the pre-disco days. This was what people used to dance to before Earth, Wind and Fire.

Oh ya brother! .. Love their sound. Soulful .. Bluesy .. Rockin' .. Latin funk .. A slow rollin' vibe. I don't know how else to describe the feeling. There are songs such as 'Golden Earrings' #Radar Love or 'The Doors' #L.A. Woman and #Roadhouse Blues that make ya want to put the 'pedal to the metal' and cruise down the highways at 80 - 90 mph .. But than here's 'War' with #Low Rider .. #Cisco Kid .. #Spill the Wine {W/Eric Burden} .. #World is a Ghetto .. #Home Cookin' {w/Eric Burden} .. #Summer .. #Gypsy Man .. #Tobacco Road {w/Eric Burden} .. #Outlaw .. #Bare Back Ride {w/Eric Burden} .. #Gun {w/Eric Burden} .. Ya know its gonna be a long day on the road, so ya ease back on the gas. 5 over the limit is sufficient .. 😎

In the 70's there was several great bands that used horns... Chicago, Tower Of Power, War, Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Commadores, Kool and The Gang, Rare Earth were some of the best. You want to do this soon.... Earth, Wind & Fire - That's the Way of the World (Official Audio)

Cisco Kid is another popular one they had. 70s had the best music. No genre categories, you would have this song up on the music chart along side someone like Johnny Cash or Sinatra..

Your Patreon page is awesome stuff. I copy your videos in a folder on my desk top, and put them on Memory sticks to share with family/friends. The Thumbnails with your face are also showing the very large collection you have of “T-Shirts” and Hoodies. I own well over 100 Concert T-shirts from some legendary groups. Since my first suggestion you did on January 14th - Chambers Brothers - “Time Has Come Today” you have done 72 different artist and 223 songs (so far.. 12.7 GB) added to your file. Every song is a “Classic Rock” Icon or just plain “Classic”. My family and friends all think you are a great guy and do excellent reactions. My grand kids will see/hear these great songs along with your reactions. I can show them with no concerns… YOU are a real First Class Guy…. Thanks for all the great content and all the smiles I get watching you react to such great music. If you (anyone) want a copy let me know.

My favorite way to trip balls back in the 80's was.... to take about 3-5 tabs. 4 am.. I'd set my alarm clock, wake up, grab my paper by my bedside I'd set up hours before. Then go back to sleep. About two hours later, maybe less, I'd wake up. WOW the grass is green , the sky is blue, and it is a GLORIOUS DAY! No sketchy sights like at night. No hallucinations. My dreams cleared me of that before I woke up. Just Whaaaa HOOOOO>... definitely for the young LOL ! Its been over 35 years since I last tripped. No flash backs......what a bunch of horseshit. I want my money back.

The culture of music in the 1969s into the 1970s helped bridge some of the racial barriers that existed in the US. Music during this time was a driving force for change and youth empowerment. There are probably interesting articles about the topic of that era's music and the societal and cultural blending that was beginning to occur. I used to rush home from school to watch Soul Train after I discovered my younger sister grooving to music that I had only heard in passing. Being in Detroit we were familiar with Motown artists, but by the early 1970s black artists and performances were becoming more available to us young white kids. It was a fascinating time to grow up. Thanks for playing this.

As a 64-year-old War fan, I can say without reservation that OUTLAW is the best song War ever made. I am shocked that, as of today, there is not ONE reaction to OUTLAW on KZbin! Outlaw is the song that describes the fantasy of the LA scene in the 1970's and the 1980's! AWESOME SONG that you will ALWAYS come back to!

Okay, now listen to an awesome all black metal band called In Living Color play their song "Cult of Personality". Burin' Vernon Reid is the lead guitarist and he is amazing! So is Cory the lead singer. Everyone in that band is amazing! Saw them live in Hollywood FL and they're still playing & writing.

Great band. I always keep WAR cd in my car. This was a good performance. I love the long studio version the best. A funk rock band from the 70s you'd enjoy is Mother's Finest. Listen to their song Baby Love from the Another Mother Further album. The whole album is great.

One of my all-time favorite bands. I even had Lee Oskar's debut album. He is the harmonica player. You should check out their song The World Is a Ghetto but do the one off of the album because the single version is the edited version.
