As a Cambodian who understand what the tuktuk guide said to the villager kids, he actually intentionally bring tourist to the village to help them out. He keeps comforting the little kids to wait and he’ll try to bring next tourist to buy snack for them to eat, in a gentle and really genuine way. It’s lovely too see this. He really does want to help those families out, as far as i can tell.

@@ruthlessintentions3778 “sai-am” is another word in thai which is “SIAM”. You could pronounce “Siem” in Siemreap by simply say “seem reap”. It’s a 2 syllable name, not 3.

Dear Chris, I am a local Cambodian, who’s come to the US under harsh political threats for over 6 months. I cannot possibly express how much I miss my home country, as well as my gratitude towards you and your videos. You have been giving me a sense of being home again each time I watch a video. I am grateful for what you have done, not just for me, but for my country, and her people, and other countries as well. May god bless you, Chris 🙏

@@EternallyGod This would normally be the case, if it weren't the ex-prime minister chasing and threatening our entire family. We could have gone to nearby countries, but the risk was too high, as they have enough power to track us down. The USA promised us protection under constitutional rights, and it's far to say we feel a lot safer here.

Chris, I loved this video. I spent a month in Cambodia and some time with Cambodian children at an orphanage. It is so sad that a lot of thse kids don't get to go to school and there are many orphans as well. Cambodian people are so grateful and will give you the shirt off their back even though they have barely anything to give. What you did in that rural community was so helpful and kind. I was in Siem Riep fifteen years ago and I'd love to go back. The kids and people in general made a lasting impact on me. You do feel so grateful for what you have after seeing rural Cambodia and how poor, kind and grateful these people are. Love this video, you're the best for all you do. Keep the content coming! Would really love to see more of this type of content. This is the real Cambodia outside of the cities. Much love, from Canada.

Born and raised in the US and I’ve always wanted to visit so bad. I know my Time is coming soon tho. Sorry for the rant but I’m sure you enjoy reading these comments on your free time. Hi Chris, I am so glad that you got to see the real Cambodia when you went to the village at Phnom Krom. My wife and I have been to Siem Reap 6 times since 2015 (would have been 7 or 8 if not for covid). We take our maximum luggage allowance in good 2nd hand clothes and do at least 1 "rice run", where we buy 100/150kgs of rice, break it down to 5kg bags, and hand it out to the villagers. But it's never enough! Our recent trip 1 week ago, we bought a bulk bag of 100 packets of chips for the kids, lasted about 10 minutes before we ran out. The young woman at 58:00 in the red jacket and straw hat when you came out of the house, her name is Du, she is a friend of ours. Did you manage to go back to that village? We tell everyone that will listen they should go to Cambodia for a holiday - the people, the culture, the temples, the FOOD, it is all sensational. Thank you for showing the world what a wonderful place Cambodia is, thank you for your generosity, and thank you for your humanity.

Hey Chris! It's such a shame you never got his contact details, he definitely seems to be a standup guy just trying to help the local community. Thank you once again for taking us along with you on your travels. I appreciate being able to see the other "less-glamerous" side of Cambodia as well. Hopefully you managed to visit the village again later on during your trip. Would definitely love to see more similar content, maybe also in other countries and/or areas.

Great video as always Chris. Just FYI for those who wonder, that's a floating village you visited. During the rainy season it is flooded, that's why the bathroom is just a room with a hole in the floor.

I’ve been following you for awhile and you are so respectful. A lot of the other travel channels act so rude. It’s refreshing to see how kind of a human you are. Thank you for sharing smiles all over the world. ❤
