I honestly LOVED this episode. I thought it was way better than last episode especially. Everything from the direction, to the character interactions, to the storytelling, even the training itself and the Corps members I felt had more personality (especially the one they centered this episode). And the paper airplane scene was just so beautiful to me. It was very symbolic of the themes the story has told thus far, and also what's to come. I'm actually so surprised and kinda irritated over how on IMDB, this episode was rated even lower than last week's episode. It spawned at 7.3 then lowered to 7.2 and then 7.1. Ep 3 spawned at like either 7.5/7.6 then has gradually gone down to 7.2 and it's there currently. Fortunately, as more votes came in, this episode went back up to 7.2, but it's still tied as the lowest rated demon slayer episode of all time along with last week's episode. Like I understand people not really loving last week's episode, but this one was just so well done. Idk, just hoping it goes up. Similarly disgusted over how lowly rated the Giyuu episode was...

i mean imdb aside i've seen more and more people just not being happy with anime additions and them being dragged out too much muichiro's backstory set the standard too high too. the anime for giyuu did not exactly flow as well as muichiro's either

@@lunarsyke9957 I’ve also seen plenty of people super happy with the additions too though, so it seems like a mixed bag. I think the wider issue are the people that are just here for the fights and can’t appreciate slower moments focusing on character writing.

@@InvisibleTacoMan that too. there's definitely major issues with the pacing (what the hell was that 50 seconds of them staring off into space after flying the paper airplanes??) but the fact that the scenes themselves EXIST is amazing. ive seen people genuinely "waiting" for a rld climax kinda fight this arc, which is crazy. same people would say kny is popular only cause of fights and doesn't have a story lmao

@@lunarsyke9957 For me the pacing of that was fine, especially with how the OST built up. But I understand how for some it was dragged too long. EXACTLY! I'm really sick of hearing people say that KnY is only good for fights and animation, while the characters are shallow, the story is bad, etc. Yet they're the same ones that complain about how boring or bad an episode that develops characters, themes, lore, etc. is. The show will literally do what people claim it lacks, and then it's STILL bad because it's not doing what they say it only has. I stg if you copied word for word an entire character arc from Vinland Saga or whatever other elitist show they love, and put it into KnY, people would still call the characters one dimensional and the writing bad, simply because it's KnY. Like it's not lost on me how so many people hated S3 and rated it poorly, despite the fact that it prioritized character writing over action. Like I could write an entire essay on how flawless S3E8 was, and how beautifully Muichirou's backstory was incorporated, the OST, direction, everything. And I know it's not the lowest score ever, but it's an 8.7 on IMDB for what should have easily been in the 9s. And of course the main complaint was how half the episode was backstory. Like whatever though, it's all subjective, just wish people wouldn't conflate their opinion with hypocrisy.

@@InvisibleTacoMan my favourite is when people go "demon slayer is a turn-your-brain-off story" and in the same breath complain about how nezuko withstanding the sun had no buildup, or "why didn't nezuko fight against muzan", or countless other stuff like that i can't remember right now. or that characters only have one personality and stuff like that, yeah. people complained about ssv ep8? that episode was a masterpiece. but seriously how are people mad about backstories existing lmao. yeah the muichiro episode had some of the best direction in any kny episode. shirai so expected, but the music, drawings, and visuals and flow in general, all of it is top tier. people really hate on kny just the sake of it lmao. ive come to a point where im happy to end up in the powerscaling side of the fandom because at least they're just doing dumb comparisons that don't have any effect lol
