I absolutely believe this Too bad, so many people believe a pill will heal them.

I know! It makes me so sad. Everyone wants a quick fix or magic pill these days when the truth is that TRUE health takes consistency and doing hard things for your health everyday.

It's worth taking time to do a little study to understand. Basics are pretty static. It's worth the time and energy because of mass cover up even in highest levels of medical practice, even research. Look for patterns, use common sense. It's basically what doctors used to say, eat good, or whole food. This contrasts what we eat today and why it is killing us, using the Science to explain.

But it got you interested and now we understand the basic concept of what Dr Lustig is talking about and that is food is medicine. Good Whole Foods. It’s quite simple when we break it down. My favorite quote from my own GP was ‘what you eat today is how you feel tomorrow’ And that has stuck with me. Info is power!

I'm on a modified fast by having regular low sugar meals, every 2 -3 hours, called fuelings, prepared, added vitamins, prebiotics, fiber, making good nutrition convenient. One meal is 5 to 7 ounces of a protein with measured amounts of low sugar vegetables. I feel better than I did 20 years ago.

I’ve been on the carnivore for 4 months, eating mainly meat. Once a week I might have some carbs in my meal, but I’ve cut 95% of the junk from my diet, I’ve lost 30 lbs also. But my recent blood test show my glucose went from 90 to 105 and my ALT ( liver test) went from 25 to 32. I thought those were suppose to get better, not worse. Anyone know why? I’m at a loss. 😢

Incorporate a cup of milk daily. Physiologic insulin resistance occurs when we don't eat any caebs for too long. Elevated fasting glucose, triglycerides, and liver enzymes can result for some people

You need low sugar green, high fiber vegetables, not just meat and carbs. Just getting off high processed foods is improvement.

Back in the day I drank 2 glasses of OJ for the "pure health and vitamin C" . Now I know it's Liquid Glucose and Fructose. And I'm quite angry about it.

Yes!!! Remember when OJ was sold as 'healthy' and the only way to get your Vi C! So crazy.

@@karenthomson Thank you for your reply & for asking... well, I'm thinking maybe Dr. Lustig could go through each of the 8 points & then discuss or give examples of the foods we can or should not eat (of course, we know sugar is the answer to all of them but anything additionally) like different types of carbs, animal proteins & fats etc. Does that make sense? THANKS SO MUCH
