The Virtual Sherpa there’s a hut every couple miles with beds and food on the “haute” and towns all the way around on the “low” path. Too bad it was cloudy for him - the mountains in my pic are on top of the massif he is traveling around.

I got SO PSYCHED when I saw a new MA video was up. These videos are so inspiring and well made. Im a park ranger/EMT and i do what most people consider to be adventurous stuff on a daily basis but even I get jaded. This channel helps me appreciate what I get to experience. It also opened a whole new world of oppurtunities up to me in fast packing. I would never even attempt a 20 mile trail cuz that would mean an overnight camp and who has time for that with a 9-5 and kids. Now i just get up on 3 hours sleep, run/powerhike a 20 in the Catskills and BOOM, dine. Thanks guys

Yeah the Tour du Mont Blanc (which we also started at Chamonix) was a lot of steep up and down every mountain instead of wrapping around the mountains at elevation. The evil but handsome and interesting twin of the Bonneville shoreline trail.

I have watched nearly all of your videos and am amazed at how poorly you and your compatriots are at bringing/carrying extra emergency gear. I used to do what you guys do but not as extreme, but I always carried extra clothing, water or a filter, emergency bivy gear, ropes to rapel with instead of down climbing. Don't get me wrong, you guys are amazing and i love to watch your adventures. They bring me back to the good old days. Climb on!!!! but be safe so I can continue to watch the adventures. ja

From a native French speaker: in "Haute Route" the H and E silent, and the "au" is pronounced O as in Omega or in "Oh say can you see". Route is actually pronounced like "root" but with the French R which no French person ever will blame you for not getting right as it's a pain to pronounce even for French speakers. :P

@thorstenreitz73025 жыл бұрын
Though he needs to do the full trip from Interlaken to Brünigpass to make it worthwhile (then it's close to 4.000m of climb and about 36km distance). For me, just doing the part from Interlaken to Rothorn was more than enough in a single day (still close to 3.000m climb and about 25km distance)
